Just a thought from listening to some great classics.
10cc's "I'm not in love", to me is not only JMHO best songs ever, but from a production, and recording stance, it was revolutionary in its time.
They went and recorded all the ooh's, aah's do, do do's etc, and then recorded them doing the same thing over, and over again , which gave that angelic dreamy presence.
It was such an endearing sound, that many have tried to copy.
Eventually some did with synthesizers, which they called the
" mellatron.
But before that, billy Joel was such a huge fan of that sound that he borrowed the tapes from 120cc to add to his song "just the way you are".. on the second verse you can hear it clearly.
Sorry, Being a musician, I revel in this sort of shit.
Other than being a "fan boy" I've learned to incorperate that sound into a lot of the music I record.
Sorry for the long winded speech, but it was just something on my mind while I was writing a new song.
