With all the chatter regarding the 2nd amendment, I can see a broad range of interpretations clashing for no good purpose. Perhaps its time to amend the constitution and create a right to bear arms more in keeping with the safety of our persons, acknowledging changes in weapons technology and a recognition that armed revolt against our government is unacceptable.

The only people arguing about the interpretation of the second amendment are either ignorant or disengenuous. Heller vs DC 2008, the 2nd amendment is an individual right. So there's no need to change the constitution, and the ammosexuals needn't worry about the government seizing everyone's guns. That being said we can certainly move forward with reasonable gun control, and things like ar-15s can be banned.

I agree, however the gun crazy crowd leans pretty heavy on an obsolete argument that they need to bear arms against a tyranny. That no longer is a relevant fear. The range of weaponry. covered is also undefined. An amendment might be necessary to clear things up.

It's fear mongering same thing preachers do, the world is going to end tomorrow to keep things fired up and people not paying close attention to exactly what they are saying.
