For the "all vaccines/ GMO's are good" brigade. This is what I mean by the science is not yet in with many vaccines, long term generational studies are not yet done. Perhaps those who have childhood measles are less prone to aggressive cancers so should we be vaccinating? It's not as clear cut as many would argue.

Equating vaccines and GMO's????? Reeeeaaaallllyyy?

@powder ummm, yeah, I obviously understand it a whole lot better than your condescending self. Pay attention: Vaccines use the weakened or dead matter from the (vicious) live virus to stimulate the vaccinated person's own antibodies to protect them from assault by the full strength virus.
GMO's are, for example, rice genes that have been implanted with Round-up resistant genes, something that would Never happen naturally.
Not equivalent or the same in Any way. Do some reading! Ever heard of Google?

@powder Gene's are Sooo not "dead matter"...just wow......

@powder see? Condescending as F*ck All, and putting words in my mouth as well....
Oh, and not dead or alive "organisms", either. Wanna go for a fourth crappy uninformed guess?

@powder changing the subject, to Airplanes? WTF.........

@powder you just stated you are uneasy about government oversight.....I think I have to block your slippery slope non-reasoning self. Bu-bye.

Oh boy....have fun with this one.

You're going to get dogpiled by those who haven't had their Fort Dodge Rabies shot yet.??
HOW DARE QUESTION SACRED FOR PROFIT PRECIOUS! HOLY "SCIENCE"! SACRED! ?

Every single advancement of the humane race was brought on by science. Despite the opposition of the ignorant, religious, masses who eventually benefit from the science they scorne. EVERY SINGLE ONE.

Dis agree just look at millions that have not had to endure the ravages of the multiple diseases that vaccines are available for. There have been no studies that show a connection and to stop until this is proven is complete nonsense.

There's absolutely NO MONEY in proving any damage by Vax. NONE! ZIPPEDY DO DAH!

@Qualia Start a collection.

@Marine pffffft

@Qualia really...no books, lecturecircuits,, "collecting money for our cause" ?...... oh, wait.....

@Qualia Would you say the same thing when your child gets one of the preventable diseases and possibly places them at risk of death? Take the odds and vaccinate

@Marine FYI my kid is fully vaccinated. I've only core from childhood, a pneumonia (which I still got anyway despite the vax) & tetanus.

Buncha people going on about others being fully vaccinated but are not themselves, comparing a vintage polio vaccine with modern DTP, MMR cocktails that were not around when you and I were growing up.

When those with full blown autism come of age then maybe people will start giving a shit about what the components are in modern vax when the tax pools have dried up.
Seriously, this isn't about freaking Wakefield.
We did our "due diligence".
Also people who go out in public with bad colds & not quite over the flu are just as culpable as any true anti vaxxer when it comes to spreading illness.

I'll just have a chat with the kid with polio ....oh wait vaccines got rid of that !!!

@powder judging by your replies to everyone else's comments you really don't get the science behind any of this. You keep believing in your internet degree ...

Right now, in Connecticut, 2 ADULTS are hospitalized with measles, you fathead....do you think they want to wait around for more studies? Or are worried about cancer, when measles could kill them this week?
Oh, and more cases are expected.....

Anne....why weren't the adults vaccinated? ?

@Qualia they are older adults that got early vaccines where sometimes the quality was poor...there is also thought that meds they took for other conditions weakened them. Lotta old people out there, including me, that this could apply to.

@AnneWimsey Well, there ya go, vaccines are fallible.
I don't know why the left has chosen to become parrots for big pharma saying anyone who questions them is "anti vax". I suspect it's as simple as wearing "BUT SCIENCE" flag.
I'm not anti vax. I'm SAFE VAX. And I think they're hiding a LOT.

No one was around to pick up the pieces when my girl had a week long reaction to the DTP which can't be ruled out to have affected our entire lives. All they did was mark it in the fucking book then "See ya". FTS!

Circa fall 2017 we were able to take over the hotel reservation of a Top Twenty doberman because of a life threatening reaction to a rabies vax. They are not without risk. Unfortunately titers aren't legal yet. (antibody tests)

@Qualia I said Early vaccines, produced in 1956-ish laboratories.
Not exactly what we have now.
And as to safety of one, rabies: There is no doubt that rabies vaccine is waaaaay over-administered, at least every 3 years in most states, where perhaps 2-3 times in the life of the dog (which have highly variable life expectancies by breed) would suffice. And even with that huge overdosing, very few if any dogs are harmed.

@AnneWimsey Anne, if you've pets and have a bit of spare time look at the studies done by Dr. Ronald Schultz (top dvm immunologist) and The Rabies Challenge Fund (non profit).
Whenever I cave and buy something off amazon I use Amazon Smile & the rabies challenge fund is all I donate to, and they really do get the money, I asked.
So yes, rabies vax are too often redundant.
My boy had sky high antibodies from his single puppy vax (I did not do the booster @ 1 year, but titered him instead) for YEARS.
Unfortunately he's due this year, and I'd bet anyone a million dollars (that I don't have) that his reading is still off the chart.

Re: vintage vax, well that's what I'm saying... it's just another example of how I suspect pre-1980s vaccinations PERIOD aren't identical to the ones out now, and that there IS something to question, instead of echo pharma shaming anyone who dares have the nerve to question the adjuvents of today vs yesteryear.
Frankly, I'm almost embarrassed for people who can't even acknowledge that could be a possible culprit. It's NOT "anti vax" to question.

@Qualia I just heard on the news yesterday that there is another measles outbreak on the West Coast......this time kids, apparently there are enough unvaccinated kids out there they expect an epidemic. So sad!

@Qualia For AnneWinsey Why is it that right wing zealots have to bring left or right politics into a topic that haS nothing to do with politics. There is no left or tight in medicine or science. It's ok to question or suspect political issues. You are not qualified in medicine to question a damn thing. . .

@Casey07 ummm, I lived before polio vaccines came out, and remember the fear, cancelled plans, the public service movies they showed us after lunch in grammar school about how living in an iron lung "ain't so bad." I also can read history, for example the life expectancy of children before vaccines (age 6!), and I can also read the science behind vaccines...oh, and about the very recent outbreak of measles on the West Coast among unvaccinated children...but, hey you idiot antivaxxers never let Facts, or your child's welfare, or the welfare of everyone around you, get in your way, do ya?

It's crucial to understand what you are reading. In NO WAY is this article saying that getting measles will cure or prevent cancer. There are many immunotherapies being used in the fight against cancer. But these are controlled applications, and if you read the article, it clearly states the patient was not given an 'active infection' she was essentially administered a super concentrated measles VACCINATION. The only reaction it's not blatantly referred to as a vaccination is because vaccination refers to prevention and their use of it was an active treatment, therefore, they are using the measles virus as a treatment. We use BCG, (Bacillus Calmette-Guerin) a form of the tuberculosis bacteria, to treat high grade bladder cancers, but no one is suggesting we stop the fight against tuberculosis or encourage infection as a prevention.

The studies have been done so stop it. Your entire movement is based on one book by one liar who now admits his fraud. It's too bad that a few miss-guided people threaten to destroy the progress gained. I remember hospitals full of kids in iron lungs and it scared the shit out of me. You were spared that trauma but you want future generations to suffer.
