Chicago police department arrests Jussie Smollett, actor in the television series, Empire, for filing false police report for a crime against him that he orchestrated because he was unhappy with his salary on the show... Racism and political innuendo were a part of Smollett's alleged attack...
What do you think about this? An obvious millionaire getting too greedy? Or just an ignorant fool?

Both, inconsiderate and selfish millionaire and a greedy, ignorant fool.

1

probably something clompicated and in between those two

Just because he was proven to be factually false, it doesn’t mean it that it wasn’t emotionally true for Jessie.

Huh?

Is that like "alternative facts"? LOL It was NEVER true. He staged and planned the whole thing and paid the brothers who pretended to beat him up.

@SkotlandSkye we should exercise caution and not blame the victim in this case

As soon as I heard where he claimed he was attacked, I knew the whole thing rang false. It's a lower-level dead end with nothing but parking garages, loading docks, and dumpsters. Cameras EVERYWHERE.

And we were supposed to believe a couple of guys were wandering around the lower levels of Streeterville with bleach and rope, at 2am in sub-zero weather, just in case they ran into any gay liberal celebrities they could assault.

When I heard the "MAGA country" claim it struck me the same as when George Zimmerman claimed Trayvon Martin had called him "homie." Totally invented.

This was before I found out that he was on camera still holding his sub sandwich and phone after the "attack,", didn't call the police until nearly an hour later, had walked himself to Northwestern, had only a scratch on his face, wouldn't turn over his phone records... And now we find out he paid his accomplices with a check and their every move had been traceable by rideshares and video cameras, everywhere they went.

I don't really care..another publicity stunt gone wrong..he fucked his life..it's meanless news..

It's not meaningless to the city of Chicago. Besides the cost, resources, and time invested in investigating the faked assault, Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson rightfully pointed out that Smollett attacked the city. There's already talk that his defense lawyers should propose a restitution amount.

@DeStijl gotta disagree..it should be headlines in Chicago but it certainly doesn't deserve national attention.

1

I think it's a really stupid thing too go and do. Doesnt make any sense to do something that Shame ful

2

I can't understand why he would do this, and why he would be so stupid as to hire his own personal trainer and a colleague from the show to do it to him.
It is almost Darwin awards levels of stupidity.

2

I would go ignorant fool. There are other ways to get attention without involving the cops. Get a clue dude.

Thank you for your well thought out and lengthy reply ... You've clarified many things for me on this topic... ?????

Hes mentally ill

Not at all. He staged and planned this....but he's also a fully functioning adult who holds a job and memorizes scripts. He just wanted attention and more fame. That's not mental illness, that's sheer stupidity.

@SkotlandSkye I have a master's degree in social work with a license. I have met his kind time and time again. Hes seeking attention due to being sick. Normal folks don't do what he did.

@Corvislover ok then, let's hold his hand and pat him on the head instead of treating him like the criminal he is. Or not. He's not sick....he suffers from entitlement issues and greed. That's all.

@SkotlandSkye wow you got a masters degree in mental health very quickly.
I never said we should not treat him as a criminal.
You can't read and then you make assumptions and blame people who try and shed understanding.
I'm unimpressed with your unelightened opinions.

@Corvislover I have a BS in Psychology and a Master's in Education.
The difference between you and I is that I call a spade a spade and you want to mollycoddle everyone and find excuses for them. He's a goddamned snowflake millennial who did this for attention because he wasn't happy about his paycheck. This is the result of the "give everyone a participation trophy" generation.

@Veteran229 makes a good point. He did cross additional lines by claiming the attack was by a major political affiliation.

Two men attacking is not a "major political affiliation" lol

If that's the case, then making a false accusation against any trump supporter would be terrorism...

@Cutiebeauty - Read into a few news sites, and it appears he did emphasize his "attackers" yelling at him that "This is MAGA country." You know I don't defend Trumpynism.

(That's intentionally phrased to be the two different forms and pronunciations of "read".)

@DoDapper they also say he used the MAGA country statement to bring attention to homophobia and racism not politics...

@Veteran229 there was no violence... It was staged.... Remember? It was acting.... Not real.... Anyway, this whole terrorism topic is moot... He's not being charged with terrorism...

@Veteran229 OK... He used fake violence.. Give him a fake sentence lol you're so funny ????????

@Veteran229 OK... Thanks for the entertainment lol... I gotta go soon... I'll talk to you later today when I wanna laugh some more... ... Thanks again... ??

Um, I grew up in Chicago. It's bad, but it's tame for Chicago. I'd say 75% of police and politicians there are on criminal payroll.

Do you know Chicago is called "The Windy City"? Yeah, it is windy, but that nickname originates about the politicians.

On my childhood side of Chicago, wearing a Cubs jersey was a form of suicide.

And of course there's our sayings.

"Chicago, where dead men vote and cops take VISA."

"Chicago, 'the city that works', people just miss that it works in a lot of different ways."

No offense. My beloved hometown just happens to have a few of the worlds very best people and a lot of the world's worst.

I blame both my broad tolerance and my critical thinking on where I grew up.

Despite my views about religion, the only cops I trust in Chicago are the Irish and Polish Catholics.

Just a lying fool.

He’s an asshat. If he wasn’t getting paid what he wanted to get paid then it was on him to find a better job. Creating a hoax and taking valuable time and resources away from real crime should have serious consequences.
