Does anyone have experience with adoption from the foster care system. Perhaps specifically not being foster parent first, just adopting straight out of the system? Looking for insight into the process. I'm attempting to, and I don't know if it really is this incompetent or if it is dishonest.

The laws vary from county to county and state to state. In my county, you have to foster first, and you have a higher probability of placement if you are willing to accept a sibling group, disabled child, minority child or behavior challenged child.

Any of those works for me. And i'm actually going for a sibling group. I think that as a single atheist in the bible belt might be working against me. That or my age. I don't know. I just know I've always wanted to adopt but i can't tell if the constant run around is incompetence or something in my home study that gives people pause. I thought my home study was ridiculously flattering. I actually blushed when i read it, but maybe i'm just not thinking like acase worker. I waited until i could do the parent thing up right, and now i'm concerned i shot myself in the foot.

I just heard i'm not in the running for another sibling set. Again because i'm single. Maybe i just don't get top have kids.

@CommonHuman I'm so sorry.

I used to work in the system. What questions do you have?

Just odds and probabilities. Given my statistics what the odds are that I'll actually be selected for a sibling group etc. Really only about 5 questions or so. May I message you to ask a few specific questions?

@CommonHuman yes of course
