I come from a family of six, intelligent, funny, left-handed musicians and artists.

For some reason, I married two left-handed men. My daughter Claire is left-handed.

Read left-handed people die an average to 6-7 years earlier. My theory:

1. Absorbing all that ink by dragging our left hand over the page.

2. Curled up like shrimp in those stupid, right-handed desks in school.

3. The world is set up for right-handed people. It's exhausting and frustrating.

Two examples:

Try shifting a car with your left hand.

Left-handed pinking shears for sewing cannot be sharpened, not even at the factory. The factory only sharpens right-handed shears.
