Most people still do not realize that it is the military that is running this country; it is so obvious though . . . no matter who ends up in the White House, democrat or republican, the wars do not stop, and it is pretty obvious when you follow the money. Yet people will argue about who they are going to vote for or who they voted for . . . . . when it makes no fucking difference whatsoever.
Same shit? Don’t vote because it makes no difference? Horseshit! You don’t think after a decade of Democratic rule in the Senate - House & Presidency that our military budget wouldn’t be greatly hacked? Without a doubt - and that's why the military industrial complex spends the bulk of it’s unlimited campaign funds on Republicans.
Are you so politically naive not to understand it takes long-term consistent follow through by elected officials - and not ‘campaign aspirations’ to make something as serious as this happen? Do you look beyond your county, town, or state..? Are you aware of a larger (fucked up) nation … let alone planet..?
I know, you’ve a twisted adgenda on this subject ...and I’ve taken the bait - but this will be my only response here (go on as you will ). But your detrimental drumbeat attempting to convince others their votes don’t count is despicable!
@ Varn Sleep on Rip Van Winkle.
@Biptu It appears I’m avoiding the unabomber ..the rest look civilized in comparison.. thus I click on their notifications - and end up here
“Hillary did it!” Same stuff - different horse.. Unlike Hillary Haters.. She understood, to win the game, you must play it. As a woman with political aspirations, she’s felt the need to ‘show strength.’ Deeper into the game, she saw the necessity of strength; there’s a reason Putin feared her.
She did not come from wealth, thus needed the financial backing of the usual suspects... But in order to change the game, which she’d have worked toward as US President, she first needed to be elected US President..
With decades of promulgated hate from an increasingly successful propaganda mill, they ‘won.’ Who are they? The US Military Industrial Complex… Who lost? The World ~
Are you - and is anyone attempting to convince me that ‘voting’ for someone (if not running myself) - I feel will both represent their constituents (my neighborhood & self) in an honorable and progressive manor is a waist of our/ my time..? Are you, or anyone trying to convince others that Democracy doesn't work? If so, Putin & Jinping have won -- and the people have lost
If you are attempting to say ‘our system is fucked up,’ that’s different.. If so, how do we fix it, by lack of participation? By ceding authoritative power to those already possessing a disproportionate amount of influence? By storming the gates?
What I’m reading is a backhanded way of dismissing yourselves from blame: ‘we didn’t vote for or support anyone - so this shit isn’t our fault - it’s yours!’ Telling those of us (literally) in the trenches - that we’re wasting our time?
Why not join the fight … instead of tossing firecrackers from the sidelines? I know - it’s a close quarters brawl … often pitting you against your neighborhood! Loses you work opportunities, acquaintances, a wife ...maybe your life..
But to blame the victims is Chickenshit, especially having done nothing of apparent substance to help.. Dogdamn - seems we should be on the same page here. One US political party kisses up to and promotes anything the religious extremist demand - the other does it’s best to limit or counter them. Gee ...which one should we support..?
Our nation remains strong, extremely powerful, and potentially poised for greatness - nearly brings me to tears over the possibilities. But, for evil to prevail ..the good need only to become complacent. Our system was not corrupted by design - but neglect. In tuff times - we’re one! At our best, the stuff my dad still reminds me of.. But when it’s good, we play.. Become complacent, and fall behind...
Evil doesn't sleep, or play. And, they’ve become The Republican Party within the USA. Once a member, I’m now ashamed.. Evil uses every calorie of it’s being to gain more control & power … and it’s victories add up, eventually creating a situation in which to realistically compete - one is forced to use their tactics. Not pretty, or desirable - but the way it’s become..
Can or should ‘I’ have to defend every utterance or vote of any & every ‘Democrat’ attempting to gain or maintain office? Or, should I continue to work for the only party capable and willing to take this nation back? Should I then demand my representative push an agenda of & for the people to the best of his or her ability? ..I won’t say ‘hell yes,’ and shouldn’t say ‘fuck yes,’ but I will say yes
I need this for many years and Eisenhower even warned the nation about the military industrial complex. Obama was so young and idealistic when he came into office. He certainly learned it quickly. Nothing is going to change in this country as long as the Pentagon is the largest consumer of oil in the world. We will continue invading and stealing until someone brings the pentagon to heal
Talk to text... Sorry
Obama looked out for America first, spending his political capital on Healthcare.. He wasn’t naive, or too young.. Had the nation he’d just provided the first semblance of national health care to rewarded him and those supporting him - and not handed Congress to the party of the military industrialists … or, had just given another Republican Incompetent 8 years to embed us in two wars ..leaving our economy in the worst economic free-fall of our lives… Things would have been different.
Obama was/ is solid, our nation is mush
@Varn what I meant by Young and idealistic is his foreign policy approach. Think about the speech he made in Egypt. Arabs all over the world had great hope that there would be a balanced approach going forward in the Middle East. He found out that he had no power to change anything of that nature. That's what I meant by too young and naive. I certainly wouldn't suggest that he wasn't a good president. Healthcare in this country should be a right and not a privilege for the few. I miss Obama. It certainly would be nice to have somebody sane in the White House
@corroboree it sounds like you have some anger issues. They have medication for that
@Varn . . . . Obomber, one of the biggest terrorists in the world. Selected because he was happy to fulfill the MIC's every desire. Bombed:
1.Iraq
2.Afghanistan
3.Libya
4.Yemen
5.Somalia
6.Syria
7.Pakistan.
Can you think of the last man in world history that bombed 7 different nations prior to Obama?
I'll give you a hint: it was this short man, with really bad temper, a funny accent and an even funnier mustache...
• War criminal Barack Obama has ordered 10 times more drone strikes than war criminal George W. Bush.
• Obama discreetly brokered and authorized the sale of more arms to foreign governments than any other U.S. president since World War II. According to William Hartung, director of the Arms and Security Project at the Center for International Policy, in an interview with Democracy Now!, the volume of deals authorized by war criminal Obama has exceeded the amount approved by war criminal George W. Bush throughout his tenure by nearly $30 billion.
• The majority of weapons exports under Obama have gone to the Middle East and Persian Gulf. Saudi Arabia who is currently committing a genocide in Yemen, tops the list at $46 billion in new agreements.
• Nuclear spending alone rose higher under Obama than under any U.S. president. Obama destined $1 trillion for nuclear weapons, nuclear warheads, nuclear delivery systems, and nuclear factories.
• Deporter-in-Chief Barack Obama's promised to make a priority in the first 100 days of his administration a comprehensive immigration reform. Instead he became the worst president in history toward immigrants by deporting over 2.5 million people including over 50,000 parents of American citizens. (Let us keep in mind that Obama won not once, but twice the U.S. presidency largely as a result of the latino voters that supported him).
• One of Obama's key points during his first presidential campaign was labeling GMO's - he seemed to be an ardent opponent to them, once he became a president one of his first moves was to appoint Michael Taylor from Monsanto as the senior advisor to the commissioner of the FDA.
• Obama expanded United States Africa Command (USAFRICOM or AFRICOM) military operations. AFRICOM is in essence a tool for re-colonizing Africa.
• During the midst of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza due to Israel's genocidal operation "Protective Edge" in 2014, Obama sent additional funds, arms and ammunition to Israel to continue the atrocities in Gaza and went out of his way to advocate day and night for "Israel's right to defend itself". This aid was supplementary to the 4 billion dollars Israel receives annually and the 225 million add-up approved by the Senate,
• Obama's regime lawlessly went to war against Libya even after Congress explicitly rejected its authorization turning the most prosperous African nation into a failed state ran by Al-Qaeda/ Daesh.
• Obama's regime incurred in high treason by purchasing and supplying guns, heavy weapons, high-powered munitions and explosives to foreign aggressors, U.S. enemies, namely Al-Qaeda/Jabhat al-Nusra, Daesh/ISIS and other terrorist organizations, known enemies of the U.S. - as of today, Obama's regime continues to contraband weapons and Wahhabi jihadist mercenaries from Libya to Syria via Turkey.
• In October 2009, nine months into the Obama presidency. ATF agents implemented federal gun-trafficking operation "Fast and Furious" which allowed the sale of more than 2,000 guns to drug cartels across the Mexican border.
• Obama's regime has orchestrated multiple indirect interventions in many nations including Sudan, Lebanon, México, Philippines and Colombia among others, his regime has established military presence and military in more than 178 nations.
• Obama's administration is directly responsible for the destabilization of democratically elected governments in Venezuela, Ukraine, Bolivia, Ecuador, Argentina, Nicaragua, Honduras and Bolivia among other nations.
• As a candidate he promised to close Guantanamo, later he funded the base indefinitely and even force fed inmates during their hunger strike in 2005.
• Obama became the first president African or of African heritage to bomb two African nations (Libya and Somalia).
What's not to love?
Obama admitting his role in the US-supported coup in Ukraine, a war crime. (First video link below).
Victoria Nuland, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs at the United States Department of State, admits in the second video that the USA supported the Ukrainian coup with 5 billion dollars. Note the Chevron symbol in the background of the video. John McCain (Senator Lovewar himself) and Victoria Nuland were in Ukraine in December 2013 amid the mass anti-government protests. (The third video is of John McCain in Ukraine addressing protesters.) During the visit, McCain met with Ukrainian opposition leaders in the country’s capital of Kiev, voicing his support for the protests, adding that he saw Ukraine’s future with Europe.
Biden's youngest son, Hunter Biden was hired to the board of Burisma Holdings, Ukraine’s largest private gas producer.
The proxy Ukraine war is all about energy. The Eastern part of Ukraine is the major oil and gas producing region of Ukraine accounting for approximately 90 per cent of Ukrainian production and according to EIA (The American Energy Information Administration) may have 42 tcf (trillion cubic feet) of shale gas resources technically recoverable from 197 tcf of risked shale gas in place.
George Soros is heavily invested in Ukraine . . . . to the tune of about one billion dollars.
It is no secret that the US was funding anti-government NGO's in Russia either, and Putin put an end to them for a reason.
Obama admits the US-sponsored coup:
What's not to love?
@corroboree just the facts eh? So is his mother a whore and how do you know? Present the facts
@corroboree It’s hard to believe ...over a decade later.. having to yet again describe why President Barack Obama proposed the system, ‘Romneycare,’ he did. And you’d consider us naive, sir..?
Ever looked into Hillary’s Universal Health Care Plan for US citizens while her husband was President of the United States? Remember how the Republicans shot it down - with the help of the Insurance, Pharmaceutical and Hospital industry? - That’s why Obama did what he (barely) did - as an incremental way of achieving the desired long-term end -- that HRC would have supported..
It never ceases to amaze me how successful Republican Industrialists Propaganda is … seeping into the minds of those most in need of help..
@THHA So, you’ve all the answers - beginning with ‘don’t vote?’ Then what?
Your agenda's unclear … something like, ‘nobody’s perfect enough to represent me,’ ‘and since i’d never run myself,’ ‘there’s nobody to vote for’? Sorry ..but that’s about all I’m really getting from you.
Fell into your trap though
@Varn . . . The solution is waking up and stop supporting it . . . and raising other people's awareness too. Unfortunately though, I doubt very seriously humans are capable, given their history, and it is much, much more likely that they will end their own existence on the planet in one big nuclear exchange.
.
India an Pakistan, or some other small countries are capable of doing it. Terrorists could hijack a nuclear sub, fire off enough nukes to get things started, and that would be all she wrote.
.The reason I do not offer a solution, despite knowing it, is because humans are pretty fucking stupid when it comes to protecting their environment or getting rid of nuclear weapons . . . . they will not act until something extremely bad happens, and, when it comes to the environment or nuclear weapons, it will very likely be far to little, far to late.
@THHA You may be right … and today’s exchange gave me a lot to think about on a long walk on the Blue Ridge this afternoon.. If the system we have has led us to here, there’s definitely some serious problems. But I try to stop short of giving up, or taking away the hope of others … though at times.. it all feels like a lie.
Living far from any targets, unlike where I was raised, I don’t lose sleep over fear of nuclear attack. If I were tight-in around any of our major ports.. that might be different. The whole 9-11 ordeal was a gut-punch, though..
Thanks for the clarifications ..I think I understand. Maybe I am fighting a losing battle … and that’s why I need some serious time in unpopulated areas to appreciate what’s left of nature. I do appreciate some serious rock formations that will definitely outlast us all
I have never given up, even though it is very likely a Sisyphean task, or analogous to a Greek Tragedy, a coming train wreck, but I would not venture to hold my breath waiting for people to bring down those who are bringing humanity down . . . the realist in me is just not convinced.
