A nihilist? sounds exhausting.

I like to think nihilism is like atheism, it is the default. Once one can accecpt them as reality, they can forge their own ideas, beliefs or principles.

Optimistic Nihilism is a thing too. Accepting that there is no inherent meaning in life and creating your own.

No, I never saw the point😉

Indeed. As an existential nihilist I find the world totally devoid of any subject meaning. I see existence as utterly meaningless and we humans as a trivial blip in eternity. It leads me to absurdism. It also makes each day interesting as I try to comprehend what my fellow humans seem to care so much about.......

I think I've moved on to absurdism.

It's the offering for existentialism countermeasures...
I also try to engage in as much observation of the absurd as possible... Basically acknowledgement of the lack of respect to existence is a confirmation that nothing is sacred. It makes the bitter part of life easier if you can find the joke in it. Instead of asking, "why me?"; You instead conclude "why not me? And for that matter, does the universe even give a shit?"

only when I am in a very bad mood.

Nihilism... pfft... What's the point?

Lol

Isn't nihilism pointless?

Depends on whether or not you are using a stereotype. Even the generic, over simplified, movie version of nihilism is still base Instinct hedonism

2

Pretty much

We're all going to hell in a hand basket, so what's the point anyway?

Hell would be something to be concerned with... Oblivion? Not so much

@GodlessVoice I'm used to the heat.

I probably qualify. I don't really care, though.

There is actually a group! Which is probably kind of weird? But here you go: [agnostic.com]

No I'm not a nihilist.

It's one of those terms that can easily be misinterpreted... Some people will say it means nothing has value and others will say it it means stuff does have value, it's just that it doesn't come from "higher beings". What do you mean?

I mean first the conclusion that in the end, all things answer to one: death. Second, I mean the personal responsibility to conclude for yourself the worth of the world around you. There is no purpose to life, thus you are free to invent your own.
