My personal perception is that Trump is decreasing people's happiness in the United States.

This needs to be looked at very carefully and digested by all US and UK citizens. It should be shown to all right leaning conservatives in both countries in particular. There has to be a correlation to happiness and the type of socially progressive policies which the governments of , in particular, the Scandinavian counties are implementing. This is not a “one of” poll, which may change from year to year, it is consistent, from year to year. The only change is at the top, where the top three or four counties swap each other for first place.

I am very dubious

  1. What does happiness mean? It is likely to be different everywhere you ask
  2. Who did they ask?
  3. UK is way way way too high.
  4. Finland has a high suicide rate, probably due to SAD.
  5. Are these irregilious or religious countries? We know that psychologically being religious confers benefits to MH.
  6. Is there differences with ages. The misery of most western youth is very well documented.

We need to be careful brandishing these memes about. (Or in lecturer speak...please do not included unsubstantiated opinion in your work!)

let us see the glass half full
the report explains how happiness is determined
I take these reports face value because they have scientific methods to measure and the reports not sponsored by anyone.

I do not have to substantiate anything. I do not have to verify anything. I do not have to prove anything and I am not reporting anything. I am only citing what is reported by major media around the world. I do not keep doubting everything that is published by everybody in major media in the world every day. That is not my job Because I am not a fucking nerdish academic.I am just a reader who is sharing news.

I have been following these annual statistics for several years, and believe they are quite accurate. Finland is actually ranked 32nd in the world for suicides, two places above the USA which is 34th. Most of the Scandinavian counties have a high percentage of atheists per capita. It is across all ages. Have you seen data to contradict the ranking of the U.K. or just a gut feeling that it’s wrong? The poll covers many factors including real GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, generosity, and a perception of corruption in their country. The data is collated and published annually by the United Nations, using scientific methods.

Yes, but many many factors already in place contribute greatly. The wealthy elite are using tRump to expand to crush the lower classes and using him to inflame against one another instead of against a common enemy

Oh, look, places where the People care about the People......who'd a thunk it?
