I was working in Pecos Tx., a few weeks ago, I'd bought a gun pouch before I left, it holds My wallet, money clip, small note pad, and pen/window break tool, no gun, and receipts.
I found a lanyard for it and wear it on My shoulder. A Friend of Mine got unsettled by it and exasperatedly asked why I went to west texas and returned with a purse! I pointed out He didn't get upset when I wore it on my belt, but put a lanyard on it and He thinks it's a purse! So I asked if He drove a man truck or a woman truck, would it be like a purse if a woman drove His truck? or what if He drove a truck a Woman had driven? What then!
Well, He said, He guessed it was ok for Me to do as I wanted. Hee hee, assuming power over my choices. I still call Him Friend, and grovel not.

I bought something similar when I was in Venice years ago. They called it a "murse" (man-purse). I have always felt pretty limited cramming everything into a wallet. However ... it didn't "take" with me for some reason. My original idea was to keep my phone in there and I found it too clumsy to get to when I needed it. I prefer it in its own pocket.

I don't give a fig if someone thinks it's effeminate. No one remarked on it in that way though.

I wear a string wallet like a purse because it’s handy and practical and holds my iPhone, checkbook, etc.

If anybody teases me I say that I’ve decided to change into a woman. I’m told that I have some work to do in that regard.
