So some asshole in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil tried to use my debit card for $1200 and got my card blocked in the process. I just want to know what kind of confidence he/she had in me that my account will have that type of money?

The chip on most cards can be read without you showing the card now, quickly sold to who ever in seconds, just as the skimmers do as the ATM's and gas stations.

Someone got my debit info from a skimmer 15 years or so back right after I had sold my house.
Bank noticed nothing, I just happened to have looked at a withdrawal receipt and noticed a 13k drop in available balance.

I had to report it to them and it took weeks before they gave me my money back. Mine had been sold in St Petersburg Russia.

Im still with the bank and they are so careful now that my card was declined in north Florida at a gas station because I had used it to fill up in the morning in south Florida

The last few months however, someone has been trying to hack my checking account several times and then I have to call to get it unlocked

My daughter's debit card was hacked and she lost everything in her account and was overdrawn. It got fixed eventually but she had no access to cash for several days. 'cept for the bank of mom

Some jackass tried to use my credit card to make a purchase online at browns shoes. It was a hacking trend my bank noticed so the transaction did not go through. I had to call em and sort things out and they sent me a new credit card just to be safe. fck hackers and thiefs >😮

A friend of a coworker came in today to get paperwork notarized. Someone in Atlanta opened a credit card at a store and racked up $50,000 in 9 transactions in two days.
