Ciao from Italy. After yesterday's hike I stayed home and took just two photos, from the balconies. But I think they're worth sharing:

Which lake is that?

Lago Maggiore.

@BestWithoutGods I felt it was either that or Lago di Como. I visit them every year. My sister lives in Lipomo, Como. Beautiful area.

@Petter Yes, I've been to Como. Love it.

@BestWithoutGods Did you visit Volta's tomb? .... or take a ride up the lake on the restored steamer, food included? You probably don't have time, unfortunately. ?

@BestWithoutGods Next visit, try Granada, Ubeda, Toledo, Cordoba in Spain, and give me a call. I live in Mojacar, Almeria. No culture here (other than that found in the bottles and taps of the plentiful bars), but it's a springboard to interesting places.

@Petter No, I didn't do those things, but I'll keep them in mind for the next trip to Como. Thanks! 🙂

@BestWithoutGods ..... and Spain. I have a large(ish) house if you need a base - free apart from paying your round.

@Petter Very kind of you. I enjoy Spain, too. Been to Barcelona, Madrid and Tenerife. Going to Mallorca this weekend.

@BestWithoutGods I love Majorca...my favourite place is Soller in the north west...both the old town and the Puerto de Soller, on the most beautiful bay. You can get there on the narrow gauge antique train from Palma.

@Marionville If you also ever decide to investigate this part of Spain, let me know. However, I'm rarely here between mid July and mid September.

@Petter Too hot then I presume. My friends who live in Javea go back to Edinburgh at that time too.

@Marionville Precisely, plus crowded with summer idiots!!
