Why don't maps of the United States show maps of Puerto Rico, Guam, and American Samoa as insets like they do for Alaska and Hawaii. These areas are technically a part of the US. Have been since 1898, 121 years. We took forcibly, and without the native inhabitants choice.

They are possessions and not states.

See below

@t1nick Okay then... I'll put it this way. They DO have maps that show what you want... They call them GLOBES or Mercator maps.

And maps ain't gonna save the USA from dumbing down... That has been happing for a LONG time!

because it wouldn't be a map of the United States it would be a map of the United States and its territories. they should be on there though, I believe.

LOL... maybe it's because it would just confuse people too much.

@hankster If that is the case, we are in trouble as a society. If we cannot handle so simple. dumbing down of America

@t1nick really?!? c'mon man... look at who they voted for president, watch them continue to support him. there ain't no dumbing-down they're already lost. look at what they want to watch on television. look at how much money they will spend to go to a concert or a ball game. you can't even have a discussion with most of these people. pointlessness.

I suspect it is because they are territories and not states. What it means beyond that I do not know.

Thats why US citizens do not take them seriously unfortunately. Most do not realize they are part of our nation.

@t1nick do you think that is why P. tRump said that he spoke with the President of the U.S. Virgin Islands?

@AmmaRE007. yes. His geographic ignorance is epic. Lol
