It takes time.....and a belief that the right person will come my way! And I laugh at my self often
"It is plenty fish in the world....I just suck at fishing!"

As the saying says... "Time heals all wounds."

As time goes by and you go through your life day by day, you will hurt a little less and other aspects of your life will strt to fill in the emptiness you mow feel. If you are lucky, you will stillhave some happy memories to cherish, bu will be able to go on with your life and eventully fidn someone better suited.

Whether it's the loss of a loved one or unrequited love, I find that the pain comes in waves. It builds up, reaches a peak, then gently recedes. With this knowledge it is possible to have hope, because you know that the pain is not permanant. Don't embrace the pain, but don't deny it either. Just let it be, and it will be on its way in time.

It feels as if it will never get better, but it does. People are recommending getting a new love and that certainly helps, but you never want to get into a relationship just to get over the last one. It takes time, even when if you realize that it would never work with that person, because we want to dwell on the fantasy of what could have been. betpaq is correct because losing a love is like a death. It leaves a hole that we learn to step around, instead of falling into.

There's a song in Spanish that says "You mend a broken heart with the thread of another of another love"

Welcome, Jay. A broken heart is, grief and there are five stages to go through denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. Depending on the emotional investment the amount of time and energy spent on each stage varies. There is no hard and fast rule, talk to people that you trust and in your time your heart although scared will be mended. Take care of yourself.

I think as time goes by, you'll realize it wasn't meant to be.
Focus on other things that you enjoy.
