Last night I saw something amazing; I was watching the History Chanel and they had just started a series on the ‘Real’ Jesus (the fact that this was on our History Chanel was not the most startling thing, that would be the fact that they used Joel Osteen to do color and commentary). Whoever is doing this programming thinks that we here in AmeriKKKa follow and revere our Televangelist, who are self appointed conmen, swindlers and predators…..We are reaching lows that I never imagined we would see.

There is very little history on the History Channel. They also have shows about aliens and a new one about Project Bluebook that is about as made up as the X Files. I know this because I studied Bluebook and read all about it. The TV program is a sci fi drama.

Back to Jesus, I find it totally amazing that people would assume he had this remarkable interview with Pilot. Assuming Jesus really did exist we have no proof that the two men would have spoken the same language or would have known the language of the other. This is in the scripture because of the supposed importance of Jesus. In reality Pilot would never have cared to talk with anyone sent to the stake that so many now call a cross.

Keep in mind that scriptures as we know them today came to us some 300 years after Jesus. The early church was Catholic and there was some importance in "The Sign of the Cross." There was a movie about this. After all, how would one make the sign of the stake?

"Swamp Jesus" is a much more accurate and informative show than is "Real Jesus."

Beware of any TV documentaries about this figure unless they are created by or prominently feature real secular historians with real Ph.ds or credentials in this subject. Such shows that say things like, "The Bible tells us...." are to be avoided at all costs.

the history channel has long been the why-jesus-was-from-venus-and-aliens-seeded-earth-and-the-masons-are-controlling-us channel. i watch the science channel for my history and even THEY sometimes use scripts that say "ad" and "bc" instead of "ce" and "bca," and refer to the possibly mythical and at any rate not divine jesus (not his real name even if he was by some chance a real person) as "christ." it annoys the crap out of me but it beats the history channel anyway. pbs should be better but really isn't, and is self-censoring on top of everything else (if jesus said "fuck" they'd still censor it).

The history channel has joined Faux news as a purveyor of bunk.

Yeah well, the believers have infiltrated everything, everywhere.
The History Channel is owned by the Hearst Corporation and Disney, 50/50.

All sheep require a shepherd to lead the flock and eventually fleece the flock.

No matter how awful and disgusting, some people will still believe the unbelievable.
