I love this site!! No where do I get to laugh out loud about all the silliness these religious holidays bring out. There will be an Easter dinner put on at the clubhouse, in the 4 easter holidays that I have lived at this apartment complex this is the one I avoid. Don't need no one prayin' for my soul or lookin' at me sadly because I am a non believer, at least they keep their mouths shut . Jeez.
As a kid this would be when Mom might actually come into the church (Methodist) with us kids instead of just dropping us off at the door. Dad wanted nothing to do with church as he was a recovering Catholic.
But the dinner was always great!! The aunts and uncles would be there and the food, ah the food!!!
Who celebrates Easter?
I was raised in a family that celebrated Easter, but it was a very secular celebration. I remember having to dress up, but getting to eat tons of chocolate.
You finally made the connection I always wondered about....now explain coloring eggs and gathering them in baskets with plastic grass in them......ha ha.
My family did the egg coloring thing. What a mess, but it was fun. I always preferred the chocolate eggs, though.
