There is a good political reason to not impeach trump. And why Pelosi stated “I need to be Speaker for two years and I will step aside.”

“For Democrats, leaving Donald Trump in office is not only good politics — it is the best chance for fundamental realignment of American politics in more than a generation. Mr. Trump is three years into destroying what we know as the Republican Party. Another two years just might finish it off. Trumpism has become Republicanism, and that spells electoral doom for the party.” —-

That and pence is just vicious

I hope my sad prediction does not come true, but the way things are going; looks like it. 😔😭

Impeachment would make it abundantly clear how far from morality, patriotism, and integrity the Republican party has moved.

Yes if he gets impeached then Pence will be number one and in my book he is much worse than Donald. He will do more damage to everything that is good about America and people will not even notice until it is too late.

She is certainly making a case for patience and letting the attrition happen naturally...a sign of her wisdom, age and experience...and yet, emotionally, it is not satisfying for many who just can't abide having him do further damage and degrading everything we know and love about our country and democracy...and of course, wanting to punish him for being such a criminal thug...sigh....

I am torn about it but my gut tells me impeachment is not a wise decision...

@TCorCM yes, there sure is...like our dignity, our earth, our younger generation's health and financial freedom, etc. etc. Politicians in generally need to reboot and think of the people they represent, not their own enrichment and dividing our nation...

@TCorCM the democrats aren't looking too great? REALLY? i don't mean to set a low bar but are they, as a party, stealing our tax dollars to reward donors, writing legislation to take away our health care, women's reproductive rights, protections for minorities, funding for public schools and the postal service (for two of many), destroying regulations that protect us from poisoned air, water and food, and using the goebbels playbook to discredit a free press? are they alienating our allies and sucking up to dictators, spending all their time watching fox tv or playing golf, benefiting personally from their own legislation.... need i go on? okay that's the LOW bar. now the higher bar is they're actually working to do the opposite of those things. not looking too great? they look like heroes to me!

g

@TCorCM sources? holy moley, where've you BEEN? it's at the point where all you have to do is listen to a republican or a democrat speak. turn on c-span and watch a congressional session. the source is the horses' mouths. but if you'd rather read what someone else says about it, read wapo, nyt, salon, rolling stone, axios.... if you think everyone but fox and drudge are fake news, then c-span is the only thing that will change your mind. wait, there is one more source. the library of congress has a website, NONPARTISAN of course, that lists every bill in every status, who has written/sponsored/voted for/voted against it, what its status is (in committee, voted down, passed and signed into law, whatever). look up a person or a topic or a bill number and see who is doing what.

g

@TCorCM cc? are you talking about c-span, as i was? i am speaking specifically about unnarrated, un-commented-on straight broadcast from the capitol, when congress is in session.

reps are gone? they're hardly gone! i WISH!

i did not used to feel this way. i despised nixon and i never liked anything about the republican platform but i never thought they were corrupt as an entity. they are now, for sure. they have been for some time. there are corrupt people in any large group, but that doesn't make the group corrupt. the republican party is corrupt AS A GROUP, BY DESIGN. that is very different from just not believing the same things i believe, or having a few corrupt members.

g

@TCorCM lol thank you. i am sorry i missed it.

i understand that theory and there is some validity to it, and yet i don't agree that this is the right course to follow. leaving trump in office another two years won't just finish off the republican party (maybe); it will endanger us for those two years, and it may also have the reverse effect and give the republicans time and motivation to secure their permanent power, make trump a dictator, and, oh, i dunno, maybe blow is all up on the side.

g

@TCorCM it is my initial.
