We had a visit from a religious friend yesterday, She stopped overnight on her way to spending a weekend in a remote house with two women she had met on a Christian dating/chat site. a bit like this one but with Jesus

Originally one of the women had arranged the weekend with a guy she had contacted on the site. This was a first meeting and she was going to spend a weekend with him alone in a remote house in the Scottish highlands but the guy had called off ill so my friend was invited along with another.
I could not believe that anyone could be so naive, trusting, stupid.
What do the woman on the site think ?

Sorry - mans comment
christian dating site, so presumably both christians - so no problem - god will protect both of them from the highlanders

ha ha. Us highlanders are pussy cats. It's the Christians that worry me.

Had she met the women prior to the trip? If not.... She needs to talk to a local cop about safety.

No none of them had met before.

@Moravian Gees that's kind of scary in a "Needs to watch a film with a female serial killer in it" so she knows it's possible - sort of way?

I admit I'd be faster to trust other women - but to go sleep in a remote area - with several I'd never met face to face before? IDK.

I'd never spend a week-end with someone I met online. Going on a simple date with a virtual contact is already risky. Let alone spending a week-end with that person, in an isolated place. It's a big "no, no" to me!

You do realise HE was taking the same stranger danger risk as she was, especially when SHE was the one who arranged it, and he was the one who thought better of it. I'll admit if a total stranger wanted to take me away to the middle of nowhere for a weekend I would feign illness too.
Any two people putting themselves in that situation are both taking a huge risk.

A female poster on here recently asked the question of men and women "what steps do you take to ensure your safety on a night out" Answer from most men err nothing. From most women many, from not leaving a drink unattended to not walking alone on an unlit street . No the risk is not the same.

@Moravian a woman could robber you, just to make an example. I admit I'm more alert, when I'm in proximity of men. But women can do bad things too.

@Moravian
Macho shit head men lie.
I am male, in my life I have been mugged twice, both times by women, once at 19 by a lone attacker and once in my mid twenties by a gang of women.
Men go out in groups too for safety, though as I say they won't admit it is the reason, men get their drinks spiked too, sometimes to facilitate robbery, sometimes for sexual assault (yes male rape and harassment is far more common than you would think). Men are bullied and physically assaulted "for fun" but it is rarely reported, or taken seriously when it is, after all "men" are supposed to be able to deal with this shit.
Like it or not the dangers are the same, and both sexes are equally capable of being both victim and perpetrator.

@LenHazell53 You must live in a rough town then. I think you will find that statistically attacks on men by women are much rarer than attacks on women by men.

It's extremely risky to spend the weekend with a man you never met.

This woman has poor judgment.
