Just a couple of tests with my new equipment, still learning and working out bugs.
The first one has a dreamy melodic feel, although after listening i may dial back the reverb a touch.
The second one I was trying to get a real thick heavy rythem guitar sound. and yeah, I know the solo is sloppy, but I just threw something down real fast to hear the mix.

As a musician, I prefer the dreamy, melodic sound.

I'm also a published author. It's spelled "rhythm."

I've always been a big fan of the dreamy sound as well. Bands like Enigma, Pink Floyd, Delerium etc, are among my favorites.

New toys are wonderful for a while.

Normally, I agree.
But creating music is like a form of therapy for me. The last recording program I used for a little over 20 years.
I imagine I'll do the same with my new toys.
It's still going to take me a while just learning the new stuff.
