Hell yes we do

Well, we should’ve paid attention and acted. Even 2006 was too late. Climate change hit our consciousness in the 70’s, and the fossil fuel industry’s PR and lobbying machines jumped into high gear to buy politicians, write our so-called environmental laws, and bamboozle the public through disinformation campaigns, burying their own research that confirmed what scientists had already gleaned.

It would appear Gore was correct, but it's a little too late to say "I'm sorry, Al." It is to the future generations, if there are any, that we owe an apology.

YES. In 2006, I got a petition going with Democrats to pressure our local theater to show Al Gore's movie, "An Inconvenient Truth" about climate change.

We were successful.

Yes...the American public do, at least the ones who disbelieved him and prefer to still disbelieve him. He was recognised by the rest of the world when he received the Nobel Peace Prize jointly with the International Panel On Climate Change In 2007. These same people still prefer to think that these extreme weather events are all God’s doing and therefore are loathe to take any measures to prevent any further global warming. Retardation of thought goes hand in hand with a belief in god, and as long as they have this mindset they will never believe in the scientific evidence, presented to them by Mr. Gore or anyone else.

We owe ourselves an apology for our suicide.

For certain we should blame religion for preventing an honest conversation, although many others are guilty.

We're just not ready to rule the world, and extinction is the fate of nearly all species. Chances are, it'll get quite ugly before we dance into darkness.

I'd like to know how it happens, but maybe not be there to see it. Our only hope is a terrific plague, or a full-on meteor strike, or nuclear war. The Earth will recover, eventually.

I know I don't owe Mr. Gore an apology, as I agreed with him and still do. I only wish I could do more by way of caring for the planet because of climate change. I think some people (critics) do owe him an apology, though while he would probably accept it, he'd mostly want people to come around to reality and care also. Even the people in the article who said the floods and all were God's doing, had no opinion as to doing anything about it, whether they cared even. Seems like an excuse not to care or do anything.

Oh, even if say Al were somehow proved incorrect about climate change, that's no reason to be hostile to him or anyone for caring and being well-meaning in the first place. For that alone an apology would also be owed, I think.

Just because he was right and roundly dismissed because it would cost money? Naaaw.
