Here is a simple and sensible immigration plan to address the following problems of illegal immigration into the U.S.

  1. High crime and repetitive law breaking
  2. High employment
  3. High dependency on free social benefits
  4. Low willingness and aptitude to learn English

Encourage Quality Legal Immigration

  1. Welcome the best from all over the world. No discrimination whatsoever.
  2. Encourage students and professionals in science, technology, medicine, engineering, data science, info security.
  3. Develop a point system and grant them fast track green cards.
  4. Attract brightest minds that can run successful organizations like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Mackenzie, Citigroup etc.and start small businesses.
  5. Study which diaspora have demonstrated high citizenry in last 50 years.
    1. Most law abiding
    2. Highest education
    3. Highest home ownership
    4. Lowest loan defaults
    5. Highest family savings
    6. Lowest unemployment
    7. Very low divorce rates
    8. Productive workforce contributing to social security and Medicare for entire careers
    9. High small business entrepreneurship
    10. Zero dependency on free social benefits

Absolutely Stop Illegal Immigration

  1. Take every measure to stop all illegal immigration. No exceptions.
  2. Stop cheap labor exploitation from Mexico and Central America. Stop labor slavery.
  3. Stop rapes, deaths, killings, exploitation, sex rackets, child prostitution, human rights and abuse of immigrants crossing at Southern borders
  4. Give white American nationalists an opportunity to pick crop in the fields with fair wages and zero unemployment !!
  5. Trump voters will be true patriots and can feed America instead of.....
    1. Marrying high school sweethearts
    2. Dropping out of high school
    3. Staying in the same town all life
    4. Applying for food stamps
    5. Fearing United Nations takeover
    6. Toting guns and gun rights
    7. Thinking about God, Cow, Mamma
    8. Listening to church and voting
    9. Restricting women’s rights
    10. Staying ignorant about the world

Whoever is going to fix America's broken immigration system whether it is Trump, a democrat, someone from Green Party or an independent, I will support that leader. America's broken immigration system must be fixed.

  1. “High crime and repetitive law breaking” and 3. “High dependency on free social benefits” are both false assumptions.
4.” Low willingness and aptitude to learn English”. Why care how someone communicates? Sure, it will benefit an alien if they speak English. But if they live and work immersed in their own ethnic community, they can work and live as they want. Free Speech!

The issue of illegal immigration is a made up problem designed to divide America for political purposes.

Not so. Immigrants, including illegals, do benefit from welfare, via schools, food stamps for host families,....

@Jacar I couldn’t sponsor my in laws unless I specifically promised NOT to use government assistance. I literally had to prove I have enough money to not need help. But god forbid someone needs help getting food. There is no greater sin, apparently.

@Jacar Working immigrants pay taxes. They are deducted from their wages just like yours and mine. They pay tax at the gas pump and sales taxes (if your state has them) on everything they purchase. These taxes they pay go to providing the services.

@dare2dream Yes. Sorta. where did they get a social security number?
And the research indicates it take three generations to actual start paying for all the services they have received.
This is a deep issue. And we are repeatedly refused the conversation. 9 million undocumented "citizens" are influencing our elections which only real citizens can vote.
And, we are not allowed to know how many are actually citizens (via census) and yet federal monies, and congressional representation, are allocated upon the census results.
And the left-polers refuse to recognize reality and have a meaningful conversation that does not include accusations of racism and naziism.

@dare2dream, @FreethoughtKaty Agreed. . . This is not a simple and easy issue.

Why did you include the right wing propaganda:
"Stop rapes, deaths, killings, exploitation, sex rackets, child prostitution, human rights and abuse of immigrants crossing at Southern borders"

You are many times more likely to be killed by a right wing terrorist than an illegal immigrant.

You actually have a really good idea here:
Give white American nationalists an opportunity to pick crop in the fields with fair wages and zero unemployment !!

I agree. But White American nationalists already can pick crops any time they want!

@dare2dream, and you see how many are doing it.

Why not just let people come and go and just regulate it? I fly pretty much anywhere. I have overstayed visas. I even lost some USD on my way to Sri Lanka so I didn’t have enough to pay for our visas at the airport and the guy at immigration was like “meh, don’t worry about it”. Americans are incredibly uptight and xenophobic. People from other countries aren’t out to get you. And allowing them to step foot on your sacred soil won’t harm you or the economy.

I think this why we cannot:

  1. The U.S. is a magnet for visitors who are tourists and also who want to stay here for good. Sri Lanka and other similar countries do not have that challenge
  2. U.S. authorities are also very friendly and welcoming. In fact, I have found them to be very fair even after the tragedy and threats after 9/11
  3. Some people often want to visit to take advantage of best medical care and govt benefits. Sri Lanka etc. countries do not have that problem.

The laws and rules are often expended to address the situations on hand. The U.S., European countries with better functioning societies and systems have to protect what they have built well. I believe they are doing a good job of it.

The drug problem in the U.S.is also because the Dollar is a very currency. If we had a value like that of the Sri Lankan Rupee, the drug mafia would not be interested in selling in the U.S. Being good is attractive and it becomes a magnet for the good and the bad.

@St-Sinner I don’t care if people come and want to stay. That at least is one indicator that America is a good place to live. I don’t see any negative in that. They won’t bite you.
I don’t know what you mean by your second point. Which authorities? How are they exactly “welcoming”?
America doesn’t have the best healthcare or “government benefits”. What specifically do you claim people are coming here for? Citations?
I don’t see what drugs has to do with my comment so I’m not sure how to respond.

@St-Sinner And: the rate of illegal immigration cannot be sustained. What has happened in europe in the past 5 years clearly demonstrates that. And they have not had the level of illegal immigrations the US has had.

@Jacar Fearmonger xenophobes often cite “Europe” as some alleged example of immigrants doing some kind of non-specified harm to a society. Maybe visit some countries in Europe and see how lovely they are. They’re beautiful and thriving. And they are enriched by the presence of immigrants.

You seem to be the first person on this forum to even acknowledge that there might be an immigration problem, and you have set forth some reasonable suggestions.

Congratulations!

No so, about the first.

Immigration has been used as a tool of discrimination since Columbus landed in the so called new world!

The US has used it immigration policies and laws time after time for the last 245 years to controll nationalities, ethnic groups, and religious sects with family separation by male laborers only, no unsponsored females of certain ethnic groups, indentured servitude, all out salvery, imprisonment and deportation of those previously allowed to live and work here, when economic turndowns were blamed on them! Hispanic's are the best example, the State of Texas decided that there were talking non existing jobs and work from other citizens in the twentieth century! California allowing only male ethnic Chinese in the mid nineteenth century use as labor for the railroads, then deported wholesale! The interment of US born ethnic Japanese in the twentieth century!

There are so many egregious act of all out illegal and legal discrimination against so many different nationalities and ethnic groups we as a nation can not begin to count!

Previously This country has been controlled by those with Western European ancestries, they no longer have the population to hold on to their previous domination!

The wealthy and their corporations now like they always have done, strived to control the government, the economy, the minority's to their overt benefit!

Now the population has grown to the point that it may not be controlled as it had been previously!

The republican immigration policy is not to let those who are not of their favored nationalities and ethnic groups too be welcomed or allowed to immigrate to upset their balance of political and economic control!

That's just a summary of Trump's position and it's a bunch of prejudiced bullshit...

Please explain why any immigration should be allowed.

1

Twisted hogwash! Some elements of truth, but a great deal of shallow garbage.

Please explain why any immigration should be allowed.

@Jacar That comment is not worth the effort to respond to.

Part of the problem here is the assumption that illegal immigrants only work in the fields.

This is about a manufacturer raided by ICE in 2018 for knowingly hiring illegal aliens. And they're not the only ones, or the only industry. As long as employers are only fined and not jailed, I think this will continue.

I think the real problem is that the radical right has NOT done well as legal immigrants have in the last 50 years. That is where the burn is. Illegal immigrants from Mexico and Central America are not a threat to them. Smart, disciplined and successful legal immigrants are who will take the best jobs. That is what they feel threatened about.

It does not matter where they work. Crossing a border without permission is an invasion. Please explain why any such immigration should be allowed.

@Jacar A lot of employers want it. If employers refused to hire these folks (it's illegal to hire them after all), it's likely they would stop entering the country illegally. So who should the US government be going after?
