IMMIGRATION RAIDS OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

What previous seven presidents did not do for 50 years is something Trump is willing to do in spite of the outrage, public backlash

[cnn.com]

As a progressive, I am making a prediction, that immigration alone will determine the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.... Not health care, not defense, not international policy, not anything else.

Our democratic candidates must wake up from talking like policy wonks and looking nerdish each day. That is not where the country is.

It is for some.. For others, it’s solving a long-festering mess. Combine the two - ya get trump … maybe eight years of 😕

Unless you are a native Indian, you too are an immigrant and now you are angry that more immigrants are coming from wars and problems that you started.

I am a legal alien and am angry about illegal aliens influx by crossing the borders based on today's laws. I followed every law and rule on the books and came to realize that I paid heavy price. It makes me upset.

All humanity has immigrated, even the first ‘American’s.’ Nations need sovereignty, or they’re nothing.. The USA has consistently taken in more legal immigrants every year than any other nation for ..decades.

I can tell ya something else.. Your nation has rules on immigration, too. I looked. And your history with regard to indigenous peoples should have you slinking back to England… PS I’m part Choctaw ~

@St-Sinner There is nothing but nothing to flee war and injustice, nothing.

@St-Sinner, @Varn Yes, Australia has a very bad record when it comes to native aborigines, unfortunately. You are not telling me anything I don't already know and something I shall tell you is that our government is treating refugees abysmally at the moment too. I am ashamed of what they are doing. When you talk about the first Americans having immigrated, that may be so, however there is no history about where from and when, they certainly where there before all the "whites" came and stole their land, and when you are talking about sovereignty and being nothing I cannot fully agree there because what does it really mean. A lot of the immigrants that are in the US are there because the US went into their countries and made wars or regime changes.

@Jolanta Our Natives, or ‘Indians’ fought, tortured, enslaved, and stole land from neighboring tribes. Eager to obtain knives & guns to kill their neighbors, they simply met more than their match from Europe.

Many immigrants, legal immigrants in the USA were allowed in because they are/ were ‘christians,’ claiming ‘religious persecution’ in their native nations. Makes me sick.. I’ve met many an interesting ‘new citizen,’ only to find they’re deep into religion ..their ticket in.

The US has definitely ..messed with the leadership of nations, usually during a presidential administration unfriendly our own as well. But by invading our nation ...decades after.. two wrongs don’t make it right.

And what’s a nation without borders? Guess yours is prettymuch ‘an island,’ so you’ve a bit more protection from caravans.. We don’t, and the damage is both recognized, and ongoing. My appreciation to the original poster here - it takes more courage than most have to bring up an uncomfortable fact amid those whom it takes no courage to rudely dismiss.

@Varn Of course your Indians fought other Indians. That is what civilisations do before they learn to live in peace. Exactly the same things happen in Europe once upon a time. And don't talk about the US messed with the leadership of nations, it is not past it is happening now all the time. Stop blaming people coming over from South America or other nations, these are the very same places that the US has one way or another interfered with by war or by some other means. Often economic. Just look at what is happening in Venezuela or Iran, Iraq, Central America, Libya, just to mention a few.

@Jolanta Yur all over the place, leading me to believe, you’re going nowhere. I live here, and am looking to protect our sovereignty.

@Varn Oh yeah protect your sovereignty have worked out so good for native Indians.

They didn't call Obama the "Deporter in chief" for nothing. But boy, talk about using a trivial issue to distract us while the rich rob us blind.

In poltics, bad is good when it is sold well.

@St-Sinner The GOP has immigration and the Dems have Russiagate, highest nothingburger index in my life. The election will be even more farcical than the last.

I agree completely, and have for years… It’s what set trump apart from an equivalent number of Republican contenders in 2016. If he were to slip through the cracks again ...the traction he’ll have will come (yet again) from the illegal immigration issue.

Progressive Democrats’ frame it as a ‘racist issue.’ To the minority of trump supporters who’d vote for him no matter what, it is. But to the ‘Independent voters,’ many being moderates like myself, having long ago fled the Republican party due to it's religious crusades, it’s not.

This is where the pretentious Democrat/ Progressives lose, and perhaps ..lose again.

Here is a simple and sensible immigration plan to address the following problems of illegal immigration into the U.S.

  1. High crime and repetitive law breaking
  2. High employment
  3. High dependency on free social benefits
  4. Low willingness and aptitude to learn English

Encourage Quality Legal Immigration

  1. Welcome the best from all over the world. No discrimination whatsoever.
  2. Encourage students and professionals in science, technology, medicine, engineering, data science, info 3. security.
  3. Develop a point system and grant them fast track green cards.
  4. Attract brightest minds that can run successful organizations like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Mackenzie, Citigroup etc.and start small businesses.
  5. Study which diaspora have demonstrated high citizenry in last 50 years.
    a. Most law abiding
    b. Highest education
    c. Highest home ownership
    d. Lowest loan defaults
    e. Highest family savings
    f. Lowest unemployment
    g. Very low divorce rates
    h. Productive workforce contributing to social security, Medicare for life
    i. High small business entrepreneurship
    j. Zero dependency on free social benefits

Absolutely Stop Illegal Immigration

  1. Take every measure to stop all illegal immigration. No exceptions.
  2. Stop cheap labor exploitation from Mexico and Central America. Stop labor slavery.
  3. Stop rapes, deaths, killings, exploitation, sex rackets, child prostitution, human rights and abuse of immigrants crossing at Southern borders
  4. Give white American nationalists an opportunity to pick crop in the fields with fair wages and zero unemployment !!

Whoever is going to fix America's broken immigration system whether it is Trump, a democrat, someone from Green Party or an independent, I will support that leader. America's broken immigration system must be fixed.

Excellent platform. So, did you vote for trump? Long active, actually a ‘charter member,’ of a west coast ‘immigration reform group,’ members were encouraged to support trump.

Though I watched HRC admit she was ‘for open borders,’ (no doubt pushed by Bernie), I voted for her anyway, as I will the eventual Democrat presidential candidate. Illegal immigration is long long overdue … but too much more was - and will be at stake to vote for a candidate over a ‘single issue’ … even one I’ve advocated for ..for decades…

@Varn
No, I did not vote for Trump, I never thought I would. I am a liberal but if Trump continues his immigration control as he is doing, I will vote for him. I think Trump can and most likely win in 2020 on immigration alone. Democrats cannot get that in their heads. They are still playing by old and outdated playbooks of policy wonking. Nobody cares about foreign policy now when our own house is on fire.

I was so turned off by HRC that stayed out in 2016.

@St-Sinner I appreciate your integrity.
