Going to put a question to the group about whitening strips. Do they work? Which brand is the best? Crest? Colgate? Some other brand?

And for those nosy nellies, no benefits means no dentist for now. And brushing with a whitening toothpaste has not produced the desired results.

Thanks!

well with this grand philosophical question last on my brain.......I'm off to bed.

well this is the general and hellos group NOT the philosophy or academic group/page. I do not have to be deep all the time! Gimme a break! yeeesh

@demifeministgal Of course you don't. it was a topic I'd never given much thought to.

Brush your teeth after using Crest Whitestrips. Whitening has not damaged my teeth.

"You teeth look wonderful!" my dentist says.

I floss after eating and use toothpicks. Cannot stand food between my teeth.

I strain out blueberry and strawberry seeds from my smoothies because I can't stand them getting in my teeth...and yes...brushing after whitening helps...I have been whitening my teeth for 20 years with no bad side effects...

For years, I have used Crest Whitestrips (30 minutes) once or twice a week. Coffee darkens my teeth.

TIP: Dry off your teeth right before applying, especially your inside lower teeth.

Crest Whitestrips stay in place, unlike generic whitening strips that dislodge. Walmart has a good price.

This is what I use...and I have for years with no damage or sensitivity...I had special trays made but it works even in the cheap ones you can get now...it will not whiten false teeth or bridges/crowns...I drink coffee and wine...my teeth are very white...

Sandpaper.

Yes, they work. I've used the Equate brand ones. As far as ruining enamel... the dentist probably said that so he could make money.

You'd be surprised what a good cleaning can do to whiten your teeth. I know this doesn't answer your question, just seemed like a good time to remind people to go to the dentist for a cleaning/checkup.

PSA now over.

You'd be surprised how a good cleaning can deplete one's bank account and force one to go without food for a month. XD Just sayin' 😉

@demifeministgal thus ensuring one gets another month out of thier teeth from not using them. 🙂

@1of5 I do believe not eating forces some sort of acidity to rise and fcks up the teeth it's a lose lose situation xD

@demifeministgal so get your ass to the dentist. 🙂

Seriously, though, oral health/hygiene has been shown to have links to overall health and wellness.

@1of5 well the teeth are fine I just wanted them to look whiter for a wedding, that's all.

@demifeministgal hope you found (or find) something that works.

@1of5 I did. Made my bottom teeth sensitive. So I stopped using the bottom strip ones. heh

@demifeministgal so did it actually work?

@1of5 somewhat yes. But not to the extent I would have wanted it to. Though they shipped late so I did not get to use em for a full 10 days as recommended on the package. It may have worked better if i had.

@demifeministgal how was the wedding? Hope it wasn't one of those (feels like it takes) 6 day Catholic affairs.

@1of5 Funnily enough, it was a catholic wedding! Just when I thought I had gotten out, they tried to pull me back in! 😉 😛 It didn't feel like it lasted forever but that is only cuz I was raised catholic. To my friend's mormon family and my former mormon friend, there was too much standing and kneeling for their liking. heh

@demifeministgal lol did they at least have an open bar for putting everyone through that?
