How come there are so many religious idiots in America? And why is it if a Muslim kills people he is a terrorist but when he is white religious he is called mentally unstable?

'And why is it if a Muslim kills people he is a terrorist but when he is white religious he is called mentally unstable?'

'A few reasons probably

  1. Religion isn't popularly seen as a "mental instability"
  2. Terrorist kill out of discrimination, not all of the other killings are
  3. Most of the whites are not part of a larger organization that intends to continue its attacks. They are just a singular unstable person.'

These are not reasons but excuses crafted by the US propaganda machine or media to continue stigmatization of Muslims and Islam to allow their government to keep fighting their wars against Muslims. This is what is sustaining the 'western world', these wars that are keeping defense, finance, pharmaceutical, tech, construction, media and etc. industries in business.

@Silvereyes, you are critical of US government on many issues, and rightly so. Please re-consider your position in the 'terrorist muslim' area also.

Below is a link to an article i wrote regarding Charlie Hebdo, it discusses a few things that may interest you.

You got your nut jobs in every corner of the earth. Muslim killings are in the name of their cult system as with some others but the so called extremist white gun happy, racist, radical, that is driven by not being mentally stable so they blame it on.

If it is a white person (religious or not) POTUS puts the blame on the mentally ill. Not all people suffering from mental illness problems kill people. Mentally ill people with guns kill people. The one think connecting these killings is guns.

I agree that we do have a significant amount of religious fundamentalists who are incapable of seeing the bigger picture of the harm of religion as a whole. Cognitive dissonance. Cognitive dissonance is why people see someone who looks like them as an "exception to the rule" while saying that all muslims are the same. They're scared that the biggest threat to their safety and the safety of their family and friends is so close to home. It's always amazing to me that in the U.S. a Christian theocracy is seen as a positive meanwhile sharia law is seen as a negative when it's just "someone else's theocracy"

Thank you Delaney18! Your comment about religion in THIS country was spot on for this thread. Religion in OTHER countries is also a problem, but as you pointed out we have a political party slowly trying to implement more and more the christian version of sharia law in this country. Religion in other countries is more pervasive and harmful but we seem to be catching up.

The same reason a white privileged boy will get a lighter sentence than a black boy for the same crime. "PROFILING" Government agencies partial to the color white.

Trust me, there are religious nuts everywhere.

Fair enough but for us Europeans the craziest seem to come from the US and the middle east! LOL

There are differences. The guy in Texas was definitely deranged and there was nothing ideological in his actions. Timothy McVeigh was entirely an ideological terrorist.

Well, you already said it.
The religious idiots here have labeled the religious idiots (over there) as radical terrorists even though it's the same thing when one of their own does it.
Their own views have been skewed by their religion.
