I have empathy for you; my brothers&sisters
are adament church/trump enthusiasts.The
way i interact is keeping thier humanism in
mind;alowing them to learn and change. But
i stand on the principals that define ME.You
can love someone-but not what they do.Keep
ing a circle of more open minded friends/family and activities is benifitial for
me to stay aware and objective.By the way
WELCOME , just try to persevere being yourself. This is demonstrating you care for
yourself and them.

Ohhh... this can be difficult. My ex went down the same road: whilst initially holding similar far left politics to my own, after joining a local left wing organisation he began to watch more and more ridiculous conspiracy theory videos and ended up convinced that Jews control world finance, Israel carried out the 9/11 attacks and the Rothschild family control pretty much everything. As a Jew myself (my partner was not Jewish) and someone who has been vehemently opposed to all forms of racism my entire life, this was problematic for me; I tried to explain that these are antisemitic canards and that any argument seeking to set one ethnic group against another holds back the left wing cause. Unfortunately, it never really got anywhere and the strain it placed on our marriage undoubtedly contributed to our eventual break-up.

Next time you’re home alone use the TV’s parental controls to block Fox News, and this method to block shit like infowars and breitbart: [pcworld.com]

It might be a little suspicious if it all happens at once but fuck up one of her faulty sources at a time and she might not notice the conspiracy, what with being a trump supporter she must have pretty poor pattern recognition and all. Facebook is the main sticky wicket of fake news that I dunno what to tell you about. If she leaves herself logged in go through her timeline and report all the bullshit from PragerU etc as fake news and it’ll stop showing to her.

Then leave a higher quality of reading material up on the PC, better books and magazines around the house etc. If she still doesn’t seem to be learning anything and you still can’t have peaceable discussions about such things I’d end it there. Or skip the subterfuge if you’re pretty sure you know how it’ll end anyways n start there.

The last 20 years, entertainment media has fed the public on a diet of negativity, anger, drama, and salacious"reality" tv pabulum which did nothing but make fertile ground for this presidential abomination.

I tend to be "Captain Fact Checker" & back up what I say with credible citations. Unfortunately, diehard fanatical Trumperies will cling to the party line and refuse any other information, regardless of the validity.

Because of that 20 years of entertainment conditioning, I honestly feel the vast majority of those folks are lost causes. wallowing in their most base emotions & bigoted beliefs because this administration has made it ok/acceptable publicly, to say & do things that if these same things were done at their place of employment, would be cause for justifiable termination under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, ADA, ADEA, a variety of state laws, etc.

I have lost "friends" & I have cut family members out of my life because I will not associate with someone with whom I have a moral & ethical disagreement of this magnitude. My circle is pretty small.

As this is your wife...I can't even begin to council you on what to do as I don't see this as "just politics". At this point, for me, It's an issue of character, integrity, morality, & ethics. (Edited to correct typos)

Divorce her and retain your sanity!

1

If she’s a Trump supporter she has more sense than a lot of the left wing gun grabbing liberals on this website.

Might as well be a believer in Satan Claus as believe the lies of MUKA (make us klansmen again).

2

She needs help, but I’m at a loss to offer any suggestions, short of pulling the plug on the electricity cable! I presume you have already tried talking to her without success, so divorce may be the final solution in order to keep your sanity.

Gimme a call...

Seriously, though, good luck. I think youll need it.

Talk to her. If it's impacting your life in a negative fashion - tell her so.

Maybe suggest something else you can watch or go do other than a political activity.
It's summer - there's all kinds of free concerts etc..

She may not even realize she's become a bit obsessed.

Remember to use "I statements" not accusations . "I feel like...." or "I think... ". Listen to her too.

This presidency has upset a lot of folks.

Maybe she can limit her political viewing? It's worth a discussion.

Only you know if there is stil hope.

1

Are you able to have a rational discussion and exchange of views with your wife?

5

Time to trade her in.

2

Justifiable homicide?

3

Try to understand her. If it fails, get an erection and take her to bed. No woman prefers TV to sex!

That didn’t work for me in years but worth a try. I won’t give up.
