Mushroom suit anyone? I have been away for awhile and I apologize it this has been asked before, and I know it is not a cheery topic; but, I am curious about people's views on mushroom suits for burial. I had decided upon aquamation, supposedly a more eco-friendly alternative to cremation; but I learned about this process with the death of Luke Perry and I have decided that this is what I want done with my remains. It sure seems like the best way to spread my atoms and energy around so other life can exist. [sciencealert.com]

Thank you for this.....depending upon price....this idea has great merit for my "self interment party" I have planned to escape painful degenerative terminal illness DEATH with dignity at a grave site celebration with libations rope music food and unveiling my headstone bench engraved with messages dates and names of loved ones.....we all should be free to have green recycling resting places which double as garden natural habitats of flora&fauna....a place to plant trees perennials of beauty like my prairie spiderworts and harvest mushrooms morels and other edibles....since I will not be drained of blood and pumped with poison formaldehyde
....will your mushroom suit be future food somehow ?

I would like the 'me compost' to be used to fertilize trees, shrubs, flowers--anything really. I want my atoms and energy spread all over the place 🙂. And, I am happy being food for worms or whatever else might benefit from my remains.

@Joanne 100 dollar bill face total epitaph: " here lies B. Franklin, printer, food for worms. "

Sounds like a good idea to me. I like the burial pod that grows into a tree the article mentions as well.

Yes, I like that idea too.

Better then embalming and being in the ground without decaying for years. I would do it in a second.
