I would prefer that anyone should be allowed to do so as a protest; imagine if a foreign athelete protested their homeland and the US supported said protest. All that said: if the organization you join has requirements and you sign the paper, you need to accept the consequences. Take the recent Women's World Cup in which kneeling wasn't allowed. No one knelt, although some pushed a 2016 photo and said Rapahoe did so. She did do what she could - spoke her mind and tell tRump to fuck off.
