Drowning Woman Scolded, Belittled, Berated By 911 Operator

This is absolutely disgusting. The fact this employee is being protected by supervisors is almost as disturbing as the exchange itself. 😔

Tough situation for everyone involve

Also the design of the vehicle could be a contributing factor to this needless death.....lastly people are allowed to drive dangerous vehicles without proper training....too many people steer off their hood ornaments rather than constantly evaluating driving conditions for safety

Another Chappaquiddick style death

An incompetent 9-11 operator must be terminated....I would have asked about her windows...are they manual or electric ? If she had a sunroof could she escape to the top of her vehicle...apparently no accurate evaluation of her emergency was of interest to this creep government employee which wasted many minutes of possible escape to safety....oaf did not even ask if the victim could swim

Government is about profits not people

I read another article here that has some more info. This whole thing is tragic. It's terrible she wasn't treated better and gotten the help she needed sooner.
[cnn.com]

  • A reason she probably didn't see the water was that it was 4:38 AM when she called 911. It's pretty dark at that time.
  • Her call ended at 5 AM. She wasn't found until almost 1 hour later due to flood waters and not knowing her location.
  • I'm wondering if she took a wrong turn somewhere because she "worked her paper route for 21 years" and this was "her normal newspaper delivery route." How did she not know where she was?

I was wondering how she didn't know where she was when this was her route for years. The only thing I can think of is that she was panicking, and in that panic she lost track of where she was. Also, when you do the same thing over and over, she may have known where she was, but could not remember the names of the cross-streets. I know I've done that before.
