Gotta love it!
"San Francisco’s unreasoned hatred for the NRA explained:
San Francisco’s gun confiscation law required every citizen to hand over their firearms to police without compensation or face mandatory jail time. The NRA successfully fought the law in court and was awarded legal fees of almost $400,000 from the city."
I vehemently believe in and support 2A rights, but can't say I care for the NRA. They have a questionable past supporting gun control legislation, dating back to the late 1960's in California under then Republican Governor Ronald Reagan. The modern day gun control movement, contrary to some popular belief, was initiated by ultra conservative Republicans and not Democrats. That's because back then liberals defended gun rights, because the conservatives sure didn't.
On the other hand, knowing all of that is what makes me wonder about the Democrats of nowadays who support gun control, because in reality what they're doing is rehashing tired old conservative propaganda. How ironic, coming from supposed liberals.
The NRA used to do a lot to protect hunter's opportunities and teach/promote/support habitat protection/enhancement, gun safety, courtesy whille hunting, and so one.
My last ex was an avid supporter from a young age....when they started encouraging massive gun ownership he almost quit hunting as it quickly became dangerous out there with idiot wazoos running around and shooting before they knew what was in their sites.
Opening Day became a distant memory for him.
He dropped out of the NRA and began only hunting on limited-access private land or hunt-club lands long ago, disgust was his attitude towards them once they got greedy.
@annewimsey1 That's what happens when greed takes center stage. The GOA put them to shame.
I hate the NRA and Gun Worship. It's a very well reasoned hate, and not subject to review or approval by anyone.
Bwaaahahaha.... so good to see Pee Wee Herman making a comeback...
"Unreasoned hatred"......yeah, oookkaaayyy
