All very lovely but isn’t LGBT+ acceptance in the arts pretty mainstream now.

The report is BBC R3 pomposity with the comment

“We are witnessing something rather remarkable," said Radio 3's Petroc Trelawney. "That moment an audience falls in love with a singer."

I think the Proms is a fantastic presentation of mainly European/Transatlantic music and provides an opening for an audience into many undiscovered worlds.

Please don’t tell us what we should and shouldn’t like though. There is a canon, as there needs to be, but many tributaries can be missed by adhering to its authority.

But so long as The Hornpipe, Rule Britannia and jolly Mr Elgar get their annual outing all is right in the colonial British (English) world!

Well, let’s hope so, anyway, Mr Johnson (not Samuel)

Too slow! "Over the Rainbow" needs a more upbeat tempo. It's not a dirge.

I got bored.

i don't see the relevance of the nnose ring or being gay

It's a bit erratic.

I usually like big operatic voices. This one not so much.

I have to agree. I had enough after about 60 seconds. Judy Garland she ain't

That she is not. But she did seem to strike a chord with the masses.
My personal taste lies here.

@Petter I think I'm just not a fan of sopranos, neither singers nor gangsters 🙂

@TheoryNumber3 What about when you're in the bath tub? I love a good, solo sing-song in those!

@Petter Unfortunately, I sing like Edith Bunker, so I spare the world my solo or group sing-songs

@TheoryNumber3 Who is Edith Bunker? I sing like an angel - the one called Lucifer!
However, in an enclosed bathroom, no-one can hear you to scream! Of course, if some one were in the bathroom with me, she would be screaming in horror even before I started to serenade her!

@Petter Who is Edith Bunker? Here ya go:

@TheoryNumber3 Ah! Now I know. As soon as I recover my composure I'll thank you accordingly.

@Petter Well my singing isn't really quite THAT bad, but I'm not gonna try out for any choirs 🙂
