That happened me once on a date to a nice restaurant, back in 1996. The guy wouldn't stop saying how "beautiful" I was, and how he'd never been a date with someone so lovely. I was actually starting to feel a bit flattered, but about then he peered myopically at the menu, adjusting his glasses, then asked me to read it to him!
