It is much easier today for people, especially young people to interact with all kinds of thought, religion, inquiry, culture, etc. They can seek answers that arent filtered through the screen of Parents, Clergy, Family and Friends. Knowledge is power and this is the kind of truth that can set you free.

This is why I get angry with parents who moan that their offspring spend a lot of time online. Absorbing information and talking to people from all around the world they'd never otherwise have met? Sounds fine to me!

It is pleasing to me to a large degree that this is so. I do hope these euro-nones are not as inclined to woo and spirituality as Americans seem to be. Roman State Religion declined and then was supplanted, by you know what...

Evolution is an extreme threat to conservatism, especially the mental variety.

Christianity in general has some of the most contradictive texts versus modern era thinking/understanding. The book (or it's collective stories) is hundreds of years old. It's likened to a difference of classical musical instruments and modern digital equipment. It's relevance is waning, simply put. And eventually it will be a section of violent times in a world history book, probably taught online with the student at home.

Most people I've met around the country are areligious except for the "show" holidays: Christmas and Easter. Then they are as religious as a minister or the pope.

My ex used to (or probably still does) tell a joke about people complaining when leaving the service about the same music always being played. Christ the Lord is Risen Today and Hark the Herald Angels Sing. Because they are C&E xians.

@HippieChick58 That's hysterical! How out-of-touch can some people be?
