So, I played harp for a wedding and cocktail hour yesterday. Outdoor, 2nd marriage for both, adult children, big Italian and Irish families. It. Was. Wonderful. The minister was lovely. Yes, it was religious but it was honest and sweet and full of love - just what religion is supossed to be! I've played many weddings (and funerals) that are really sales pitches in disguise. This was different. This was a celebration of love and family and friendship. (And the food and wine was fantastic!) If only they all were that way.
Now, in a few weeks I'll be working a bridal fair. I'm expecting the polar opposites with bridezillas and mother-of-the-bridezillas.

Glad you enjoyed the experience and didn't refuse to play there. I'm not sure I agree that religion is supposed to be honest, sweet and full of love given that it causes most of the wars in the world.
