Do you Like Science?
We all like to support science, we love to be called educated, and sound so reasonable.

Therefore, we have seen waves of new researches, new thinking, new recommendations and new followings of "What to Eat", "What Not to Eat" cults in the last 50 years. Some have acquired great wealth and fame in the changing of thinking about eating. We accepted many things in the name of science.

Conflicting Science
What has been the new thinking in eating in the last 50 years?

  1. Milk is complete food, drink milk every day
  2. Processed food is tasty and good for you
  3. Only Paleo diet is good for you
  4. Go vegan - avoid all dairy products
  5. No vegan - just go vegetarian for life
  6. Meat is bad for you. red meat is very bad for you
  7. White meat (pork ad chicken) is good for you
  8. Red wine is good for you

Debunking Science Every Two Years
Every two years, the previous researches are debunked and a new research and new excitement starts.

**Now, the new recommendation is - Don't Avoid Anything. Eat Everything in Moderation." [npr.org]

Science, Weird Science and Junk Science
There is science, weird science, sponsored science and there is junk science. All quoted in the name of science is not good. Take all you see in the name of science with a grain of salt.

Age Old Wisdom
Generations before us have lived through all challenges of life and thought about what to eat., We are not the only ones. Our laboratory science is not superior to the centuries of wisdom including what the grandmas passed to generations after them.

  1. Sleep long every night - sleep is the best healer
  2. Eat in moderation, adjust your portions according to your age, no too much of a good thing is good for you
  3. Living well and long is success (not money and fame)
  4. Maintain body clock - eat on time, sleep on time
  5. Avoid alcohol
  6. Meditate

the ironic/unfair thing is that perfectly healthy ppl get cancer & die from it. in fact cancer cells can't be destroyed by our immune systems they can only be destroyed by free radicals which healthy ppl have much less of.
this is why i fight cancer by having at least 3 drinks/evening which are full of free radicals.

I try to live by the age-old wisdom, except for a bit of wine.

If you use moderation you can eat almost anything. I’d add moderate exercise such as walking.

What passes for science is often just advertising or propaganda.

This is true. It’s not easy to find out who finds a lot of scientific studies. Due to the ad hoc nature of the results as stated above it seems it depends who’s got the more expedient agenda to fulfil.

Truth is universal and does not change. It is built upon. if results continually reverse upon themselves rather than develop there was something wrong in the initial studies.

You can make a report say what you want if your peers are in collusion with you.

Don't forget artificially flavored corn syrup for the pancakes and fake chocolate for the ice cream. 😁

The message is moderation. Enjoy everything that you like but in moderation.

@St-Sinner yes to be honest I read what you wrote and I also heard that on NPR or I read it on their app it only makes sense, of course then again I've been doing it for the last 60 some years.
