Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.The Cuban Missile Crisis ended when JFK agreed to withdraw U.S. 'Jupiter' IRBMs from Turkey, in exchange for Kruschev withdrawing Russian IRBMs from Cuba. Both sides 'double-crossed' the other. The Russians didn't actually remove all of their missiles from Cuba, until the early 1970s. And the Americans would use Turkey as a dump for storing hydrogen bombs, and later--nuclear-tipped Cruise missiles. Most of the U.S. nukes in Turkey are designed for delivery from F-16s, and B2 bombers.

Maybe Erdogen will refuse to let them, in fact, I hope he does, it would teach them a lesson.
