Some of my theistic friends think I'm simply afraid of the concept of God. What they cannot understand is that the concept of God simply doesn't interest me. In fact, it is of zero significance to me. This is anathema to their entire worldview, for they cannot even conceive of a life without believing in a deity.

Realizing those we rode out the most dangerous years of life with ...finally getting that ‘you really don’t fear or believe in a god.’ Seems me & mine put equal, yet respectful distance between us … and were never again as close..
Mine remain the deepest of friends, likely know me as well as anyone, but like so many I’ve met moving forward … when it comes to a god belief, we’ll never be as close as we’d like.. Move ahead ~
