What was your first "I wanna be a ____ when I grow up?" Are you doing that?

I wanted to be a photographer for National Geographic. No, I do not work for National Geographic, I'm not a photographer, not even close.

I wanted to be John Wayne .

I wanted to be an Architect, but I ended up being a Textile Technologist.

I wanted to be a ghostbusting, time-traveling, dimension jumping, dinosaur training ninja turtle growing up. It didn't pan out exactly like that, but god DAMN the training was fun. I AM an actor, so technically I COULD one day be a ghostbusting, time-traveling, dimension jumping, dinosaur training ninja turtle, but I'm not holding my breath.

I wanted to work somewhere where they pushed the envelope on technology. I later found I have a learning disorder and became a woodworker. Kind of the same thing as we build from scratch and never do the same thing twice.

I wanted to be a cop.. The most stable influences in my shitty working-class neighborhood were cops.. Went directly to college for it out of highschool … only to find out (two years later), no ..I didn’t want to be a cop 🙂 Learned a lot of interesting stuff ..though my favorite elective was US History (‘all the stuff they didn’t teach us in HS’ ).

Too, I’d fallen in love with an extremely anxious ..eventual wife … who’d cry when considering me ‘on duty.’ No major regrets for not pursuing it, though I’d have retired decades ago, with a sweet pension -- had I survived 🙂

Astronaut..I still want to go into space in fact.😀

Oh sweetie, just have another brownie!

Me too! I knew they wouldn't take for my body because I wasn't strong, but I thought they might take me for my mind. That's why I started programming when I was 16. (I had tried chasing girls but that was hopeless)

@AnneWimsey ok thats funny......

@AnneWimsey mmmmbrownies!..actually I had rheumatic fever as a kid..my doctors told I'd never be an Astronaut due to the heart murmur it left me with...

@Bigwavedave 🤣🤣🤣

@BitFlipper ..you're a nerd..😁😁

@Charlene I wear the nerd badge proudly.

I really don't remember ever doing that. I did end up doing what I love doing and it suited me in every way, except maybe the money. 🙂
