I used to have a picture of my children but since i have been given a slightly more up-to-date machine, I haven't changed the desktop from the original Microsoft fields! You ahve remiunded me to do something.

Straight black. Easiest on the eyes, and back when CRTs were still a thing it was the most energy-efficient.

I only stopped having plain black a year or so ago, even though I know it makes no difference nowadays - old habits die hard!

@Jnei Here is what I was using in the before-times. My desktop kept on trying to tile the stupid thing, though, so I eventually just went to efficiency-is-all black.
A "Han shot first" woodblock. Because I am a nerd.
