So why do we keep falling in love with people who have such fucked-up souls (minds)? [myself included]
Practicing for that one time we get it right.
Either you saw or experienced that growing up (your parents, your grandparents, your aunt/uncle, cousins, etc.) and so to you that is just normal and how relationships ought to be. OR you have some underlying reason like a savior complex which again can be tied to childhood experiences or a loss of a partner in the past.
@demifeministgal well I didn't see any love growing up, so I guess I'm not modeling someone else's behavior. I hope I never fall in love again - it's the most painful experience I've ever had.
@BitFlipper I saw a mental health meme a few days ago that stated if you were never shown love or made to feel loved, how can you expect to find someone that is worthy of your love. So kind of like settling for less that one deserves because one thinks they do not deserve better. Sorry to hear that you falling in love lead to pain and suffering. online hug
