@jorj The media loves a horse race. They mostly don't give a flying fuck about issues (although it's been getting better). The narrative over this primary race, as far as I've seen it up to the last couple weeks, has been that Sanders was a runaway favorite and Biden was a hapless loser.

Trump has worked them last three and a half years for this, with favors etc. Now all he has to do is let the chips fall. The democrats meanwhile can not find a leader that stands out above and beyond the others or they are too indebted in favors to endorse whom they wish. The Dems have already lost it.

@DavidLaDeau I don't agree. They don't just need a candidate. They need a populist movement. Bernie has that. But he can't fight the US Ruling Class, the republicans, the mainstream media, and the Democratic Party Establishment. So, they, particularly the last, will destroy him, and in so doing destroy themselves. On the night of the November elections, when Biden is road kill, Trump is victorious, and the path towards American autocracy becomes inexorable, the Democratic Party and their media hacks will realise what they have done, but it will too late.

Well the are both populists running more outside the system than within it. Both have autocratic tendencies. I believe Sanders really is the candidate Trump would like to run agains. I turned in my ballot in California today. I had been going to vote Warren since I think she is the most progressive candidate that is also electable. (No factual claim here, just my sense of it.) But then, last night my wife asked where Warrens voters would turn to if she drops out. So she decided to vote BIdens and I joined her. Another pitiful vote for normalcy but yeah that would be pretty welcome about now.
