Who can honestly say god rules the universe anymore? The awe is filled with man-made plastic as we poison the water and the biosphere. What good is thinking positive; and prayers?

When the accelerated loss of reverence for great nature began god began to die and life became a conquest not a proper way to sustain and respect..

When did a god ever rule the universe?

The laws of Physics rules the universe .

Anymore? He never ruled anything to begin with. He is a mythological being. He never existed. I think that I should be able to run fast and jump in the air, and do a triple somersault, and then land on my feet while eating a slice of pepperoni pizza in one hand, and a slice of cheesecake on the other hand. I can pray for that until pigs fly, but it will never happen. That is what thoughts and prayers delivers. Absolutely nothing.

God: the ultimate deadbeat parent.

Thinking positive is the only way to go.
As a stoic, I don't emotionally or psychologically worry myself over thing about which I have no personal control.
Much better for my mental health that way.
I stopped watching the news...my education about those things is complete. No need to frustrate myself.
I DO vote, but if my candidate isn't elected, so be it. Not my problem and I did what I can do.
My suggestion: substitute extraterrestials for 'god.' The chances THEY 'created' us through genetic engineering are much better than imagining some personal disembodied entity.
And THEY might actually come back some day, or finally make their presence known, and help us out and set us straight in many ways, or maybe even finish the job and make us superhuman. That'd be cool.
Watch Ancient Aliens on the History Channel; it'll blow your mind.
In short, my advice is to look for plausible--if 'farfetched'--reasons for the way things are and deal with THAT.
And stop worrying.

Thinking positive and prayers amounts to wishing for something and hoping it happens so it's really of no practical use at all.

Do thoughts an prayers ever make anything better after a mass shooting?

New one on me!

There's no gods, ergo never ruled anything ever. Thinking positive or prayer achieves jack squat. Do something tangible like volunteering to clean up the crap others throw or commit to never pollute and also clean up some shit. Once you do that, you'll find your own answer to the question you ask.
