On the whole i do not think it will have any long term effect on religion. what i think will happen is the domsday groupslike JW will use it as another tool to control there members. They are cancelling activaties all over members are saying how wonderful the organisation is in caring for them. They are getting into a bunker mantality that soon the worlsd will end because this is a sign iof the times. I think a lot of the end timers will think along similar lines.
Now as to individual members the ones who are waverers those not sure those who want to get will be happy that there are no meetings etc and will use the time to do other things when the all clear is given then they may start thinking why go to a meeting when i can be doing this that or the other like the last few weeks.
one of the effects of spending time talking about your beliefs in public is it isolates you from the community the treatment is mostly negative this makes the preachers cling to each other becuase no one wants to hear ther wonderful truth if the public teaching as gone then perhaps in some the mentality of us and them may be shifted these are just my thoughts as an ex JW and one who is contact with a lot of former witnesses

I saw a picture of a town i USA that had been devastated by cyclones but the church was still standing. This was held up as proof of god's mercy. Noone seemed perceptive enough to ask about all the houses and lives destroyed while an empty building escaped. This seems to indicate that religious people have an unfathomable ability to deceive themselves about the benificence, or lack thereof, with regard to their imaginary psychopath. Consequently I don't thnk the virus will have any impact on religion. Those that believe will keep believing and those that don't will keep shaking their heads in fascination at the stupidity.

Hard to say for sure. It could conceivably wake people up to reality that there most likely is no such thing as god or deities.
