Hey everyone, I would like to know if there is people here interested in discussing the relation between "quantum physics" and the existence of "a universal consciousness".

I do believe that consciousness is very common, arising with the development of the cognitive function of organisms. I don't really understand quantum physics very well but I can't see where it is needed to understand consciousness. Combining two barely understood phenomena rarely sheds light on either one.

I've heard people speculate that consciousness is a separate phenomenon which becomes instantiated in individual beings but that has always struck me as a bit confused. Why should we think that a complex organism isn't entirely self contained, apart from what it feeds on from its environment? What would be the reason to suppose that I wonder?

Others have tried, but I can't remember where they buried the last one.
