Got masks ? You can HELP !
I have a reusable coffee filter.
epic (~ .1 micron) FAIL
Actually ..I do ...but donโt tell ~
unfunny
@FearlessFly Then donโt laugh ~
What I am reading is that the virus measures 1 micron. In most hospital masks the pores are 3 micron. Homemade masks of regular fabric.... I am sure it is so much larger. Soooo, they will help but not completely. And as I see in the previous discussion - petrol pumps. YES, those are prime places for contamination. You block that sneeze with your hand and then don't wash and grab the petrol pump handle. You have just spread your germies there. So when I next use that handle I'm going to pick up those germies and then touch my face. BOOM, I have whatever is in your sneeze. From my reading - I am NOT a doctor but I work for a hospital and they are trying to educate us daily- the virus will stay airborne for about an hour. It will live on most surfaces for up to 3 days. Soooo wash, wash, wash your hands, and if a mask makes you feel better - go for it. My office tells us to wipe down our desks first thing in the morning and last thing at night. I am first in and last out on M, T, W, and Friday. I haven't seen anyone do it yet, not that I'm watching, but I also haven't incorporated it into my daily routine either.
What is an N95 filtering facepiece respirator (FFR)?
An N95 FFR is a type of respirator which removes particles from the air that are breathed through it. These respirators filter out at least 95% of very small (0.3 micron) particles. N95 FFRs are capable of filtering out all types of particles, including bacteria and viruses.
@FearlessFly Thatโs why I snagged some N95โsโฆ
The virus is not airborne your far better wearing gloves.One way the virus spreads is through the use of petrol pumps.
Where ever possible wear gloves if you can disposable ones.Have a bin designated as toxic bin
put gloves in after usage and wash hands.
Literally everyone says that this virus is Airborne and that you not only get it through the particles in the air but droplets and spit so why are you saying it's not airborne
@Allikat I think what is happening, are the droplets from a persons cough, or sneeze, are air born for approximately six feet....true air born is when the virus is being carried by air molecules over extended distances
@HankSherman so the real truth is we don't know
@Allikat The corona study on how long it stays in air attached to particles and on surfaces. If the word airborne is the wrong word it is still deceiving to say it's not airborne, because of the worlds facevalue of the word.

I'm in hospital medicine and we talk about nothing but this behind closed doors. The prevailing opinion, and unfortunately opinions are all we have because there's so little reliable data, is that it can hang in the air for up to 3 hours when aerosolized. Its aerosolized when someone receives a nebulizer, BIPAP, or CPAP. As far as cough or sneezing, we just don't have the data. I just ordered some machine washable masks with filters from Amazon. Stay as safe as you can, people.
@Allikat yeah, got that also
