At Eight o’clock last night...the people of the U.K., from Southampton to Stornaway, and Belfast to Brighton....& everywhere in between, opened their windows and front doors and clapped in appreciation for our NHS and its doctors, nurses and all other carers. We are all so grateful for what you do, and what you are tirelessly doing at present, by tending to us during this pandemic. NHS...we salute you! 👏

Italy started the custom, followed by Spain. They've been on their terraces and rooftops, windows and doors, every night at 8 to applaud medical workers.
Good to see the UK following their example.

What a beautiful tribute to your NHS!!!!

Yes...the jewel in our Welfare State.

@Marionville I so wish the U.S. would get with the rest of the civilized world and have an NHS. It will take getting rid of the repub party though I'm afraid....

@Redheadedgammy Here’s hoping you get a better health system and a better administration!

@Marionville Thanks Marje, we need all the positive thoughts we can get!!!

Awesome!

I find it funny that it's focused on David Beckham and his son but the other two people in the back are cut out like they don't matter. Zoom out, Victoria, or at least take a few steps back and show everyone hahaha

I think they should have cut the Royal kids and the Beckhams out altogether. It was about the ordinary people wanting to show appreciation, not celebs who use Private healthcare and not the NHS anyway!

That is a nice gesture!

Yes..and it brought us all together in a gesture of solidarity.

Such a pity so many of them voted Conservative, despite the NHS suffering so much from a decade of Conservative cuts and privatisation.

They are dazzled by promises of low taxation, not realising that we need we taxation to pay for good public services.

That's cool.

Yes..it was quite emotional because it was heartfelt!

In my church daze we used to clap for god. As I look back I'm not sure why. Maybe because he could not clap for himself. As for nurses and healthcare givers, we should always clap for them. They are the best.
