Ok we've already got the pestilence, and now the midwest is expecting some very severe weather... thunderstorms, hail and tornadoes in Chicago this evening. This shit's getting real. If it starts raining frogs, I may have to start taking the bible seriously.

If it starts raining frogs STOP DRINKING AND GO TO BED. Your brains already suffered enough, don't torture it with that mind bending crap in the bible.

Have you started building an ark yet?

No, I was gonna ask if anyone had a whale I could live in for a while

You can buy an ark cheap....the Genesis theme park in Kentucky near Cincinnati went bankrupt despite taxpayers funding.
...we put up GENOCIDE&INCEST billboards to welcome grand opening day over 5 years ago

@TheoryNumber3 JonahETTE thank you for that fish story ! Hah hah

I'll pass on the bible stuff, 😱 but it seems to follow the climate models for a warming planet. 😣

6

Why the bible? Plenty of other old texts forecasting gloom and doom.

Because it is the default setting for our incurious society?

4

We need to be throwing Christians into volcano's. That probably won't stop it . . . but it would be fun!

4

We had a rain of lemons, does that count?

Anyone for lemonade? 😁

Limoncello, lemon bars, Lemon meringue pie...There is only so many lemons you can use and give away.

One of many boxes. The tree grew so heavy with fruit, it collapsed.

It would be funny to see some agnostics and atheists convert to some sort of faith. ... This way these particular folks will really understand why we made up a gawd in the first place. ...We want to feel secure during natural events / disasters over which we have no control. ... I feel scared too, but I won't start praying. I'll start preparing. ... I'm taking stock of what (and who!) I have as part of a longer term survival plan should something like that become necessary. ... Hey, it beats praying about it because we already know the outcome of both prayer and disaster preparation!

It's a ridiculous waste of time

Wrong scaredy cat, religion was invented to rape women and brainwash boys into deadly violence against neighboring tribes....the origins of faith ARE NOT GOOD by any rationalization.... shamanism is the birthplace of patriarchy.... alleged vaginal virgins don't birth alleged baby gawds every midnight December 24-25 in dirty donkey stables anywhere....the African tribe I know translates gawd BAAH GUSSA WON the greatest of all warlord chiefs....they are animists being converted by Lutherans

@Larry68Feminist "Scaredy cat" ?? ... I couldn't disagree more. Men didn't need to invent religion as a means to rape women. ... They were already doing it and continue to do so hundreds of thousands of years later.

@JustAskMe Shamans are both male and female brainwashing women yet today for submission to the brainwashed rapist boys...take for example Brett Kavanaugh 17 raped Christine Blasey 15 and hides behind theocracy on the US Sup Ct guilty as hell drinking and counting BREWSKIs in his diaries lifelong

@Larry68Feminist It seems that we have gone way off topic.

@JustAskMe taking the bible seriously during tornadoes and the overflowing hospitals remains the appropo joke and venting topic of our original poster in Chicagoland quite distant from theocrat AbbottLAND TX

Nah. I don't think so.

Bring it. I love it when Mother Nature goes a little nuts.

I like it too. Big thunderstorms are exciting. Tornadoes... not so much. they're scary.

3

Nope global warming

Really? WOW! Who knew! And I was just starting to believe that raindrops were Mary Magdalene's tears and thunder was god bowling.

@TheoryNumber3 Ya mean they're not, omg. I do remember the bowling part from a long time ago.

Make me laugh girl....leave the snakes alone no matter what you read in that pornographic PRO-VIOLENT UNSAFE ABORTIONS genocidal incest King James bibles

All signs of the coming Trump apocalypse coming in November

2

I'll believe it when I see a Rapture type of departure of truly good people. Guess then I would have to admit I was in deep shit...

I think you needn't worry 🙂

Believers are good people???? Get them to pay you in advance for rapture care of their dogs cats houses and cars.... that crazy shit comes true make nice for companion animals....none of them read bibles and all are born Atheists like humans....only believers are stupid to believe alleged vaginal virgins birth alleged baby gawds every midnight December 24'25 and temporarily torture it to death 36 hours on Palestinian week ends every April

Good for rolling cigarette's and staing a fire. Not good as TP. Just realised I don't have one, who should I call?

It appears that "their god" is very pissed off with Trump being taken seriously by fools and is punishing them for voting for him, keep your heads down friends!

aHA! I think you're right!

This is normal, natural atmospheric activity and has been happening since an atmosphere developed on the planet.

The frequency and severity of the weather has increased dramatically in our lifetime. There's some serious concern about it.

@TheoryNumber3 Since the OP mentioned pestilence, then weather activities, I am assuming it is therefore referring to biblical prophecy that is now supposedly coming true and that is what my comment is addressing.

@jlynn37 Oh I don't believe in that bible hooey. LOL I was just jivin

I've been waiting for the rain.....I could have been outside doing some more work. Listening to the forecast again......Grrrrrrrrrr !!

twill Level 7 Mar 28, 2020

Yeah they said severe thunderstorms in Chgo this afternoon. Oh well..meteorological predictions are not an exact science.

2

narf

I was just thinking the very same thing 🙂

2

Probably going to be slush, and even if a big storm it will melt quickly, it is almost April. Plus, since everybody is home anyway, not many traffic messes, either.

It's not snow being forecast

@twill rain? That's it, rain?

@AnneWimsey Rain, wind & hail where I'm at. (southern tip of Lake Michigan) But they almost always throw hail into the forecast anymore when there are thunderstorms. Kind of a recent development. Makes for more weather forecast drama I guess

@twill yeah, around here, "We're all gonna die" every weather event, especially in winter. I had Physics in HS, we are NOT all gonna die if it is 46 degrees, you fools

@AnneWimsey Dorothy, we are not in Kansas anymore....she rode a tornado sucked away to OZ in her house with Toto Judy Garland's dog....she refused to hide in the root celler with Auntie Emm to go back in the house for the dog under the bed.... I like Helen Hunt in TWISTER movie chasing category 4 storms to measure the inside wind patterns for predictive data .....3 dollars on Netflix if the bastards are not price gouging quarantines

Come to think of it, we here in the Bay Area are due for a really good earthquake. As Neil Peart said, "Roll the Bones."

Wow. You must really be bored 😂

Force your Governor to ban all fracking....drillers cause earthquakes EVERYWHERE

Rain, thunder, already happening in mn.

g

yea it was coming down in buckets here a little while ago. It's quiet for the moment. They're saying damaging winds and large hail. Should be quite a night. Last night the thunder was deafening!!

@TheoryNumber3 it isn't so loud here... yet i guess. i had a wonderful cat named woody who was unafraid of anything, until one day hail hit the window while he was peering out of it. that did it. he was afraid of thunderstorms ever after. he was an independent boy who didn't like being held; he preferred to hold ME lol. but when it stormed, he was in my arms, burrowing his head in my tummy, under the covers if possible. he died of a brain tumor four years ago. i miss him so and i think of him every single time it storms, no matter how mildly or fiercely.

So sorry about that! For a couple of days we had 55mph gust here in the desert, and it is distressing! But, I know tornadoes are so much worse! I hope they all stay in the sky where they belong...best of luck and be well!

Thanks. I think they removed the tornado threat as of right now, but it's still gonna be a helluva storm. You be safe as well!

Cyclones happen locally when hot ground hot air collides with cold air moving in locally in spring and hot air moving into cold ground cold air locally in fall....very rare for the jet stream to dip down from where it does belong
