The unemployment numbers are much higher than predicted and this article is clear about the economic problems contributing to the COVID-19 effects on the USA. @Genessa and maybe others do not like the term or may not know what it means but this article, without using the term clearly describes Neoliberalism as the Chicago-style economic theory f#%&king us up. That school of thought believes that people are unemployed by choice despite the evidence to the contrary. So my question is DO YOU BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE ARE UNEMPLOYED BY CHOICE? [rwer.wordpress.com]

Some yes , the majority no .
When the minimum wage is a joke , if u do the math , unemployment / assistance / is better than killing self for 40 hrs and come home w nothing .
Then again , I have life time friends who work at ER as housekeeping and such . Rain or snow , or 96 degrees , day after day they leave the hospital where the most of us make a pretty good amount of $$, and they wait on bus stop to get home . Hard working people who I have not heard them complaining in 16 yrs . These people had put kids through college ( some of them ), I knew their kids when they were little . How ? I don’t know . These folks will never collect unemployment , that I know .
They are proud and thankful to have a job .

I'm unemployed by choice. I'm retired.

I have never been unemployed in my entire life...maybe not impressively employed, but bringing home the $$ to keep a roof over my head.
