THIS is why women need to take the ball...with force if necessary.

I just read about Jacinda Arden and New Zealand briefly for the first time right now. It appears her nation is the absolute perfect model of correct pandemic national response. I don't think a nation could be doing a better job than New Zealand is. It is something to note. All nations that have low covid infection rates need to be studied and their practices implemented globally. The gender aspect is of little concern at the moment. It can be studied when the world is rid covid. I don't think gender of leadership corresponds in a meaningful way here.

We also need to ask ourselves why the leaders in our own nations didn't respond like PM Arden did. Just read a quote written about her that seems like an honest description of reality "the principles in leading a country of 5 million through a crisis are the same as leading a country with 50 or 500 million. You have to lead. You have to devise, execute and narrate a strategy." I felt the absence of leadership in the US in the window of opportunity in the US before the numbers of infected got high. US now leads the world in number of infected. My impression was accurate. Why was it so? Where did our nation go wrong?

Hold the phone! You can not reasonably compare the Coronavirus effect on various countries unless you take into consideration the sizes of their populations. The US ranks very low in cases and deaths per million residents.

It has nothing to do with whether the leaders are men or women. My state has a woman for governor, and she wisely delayed lockdown for as long as feasible. Our rate of infection is on the low side, and I doubt that earlier action would have done anything other than exacerbated the financial stress.

When you say by force, just what do you mean? Is that a click-bait phrase?

Women make better leaders....men had their chance and you guys fucked it up royally, in oh so many ways. I will not debate this with you...and by force I mean exactly what you think I mean. #NoMoreMen

Impressive. "You go girl(s)" 🙂

. . .btw, I recall following the 2008 'meltdown', one (of those ? ) woman leader taking steps that greatly diminished the negative consequences.

and cue all the snarky comments from insecure men. Right on time Skippy.

@ReadyforaChange . . . kinda off-topic, and I generally use this to "protest" indiscriminate use of the word "free" (when 'gratis' is what is really meant), but I'm in the mood for a snarky comment (didn't you ask for it ? ). I thought you might appreciate it (or not) :
