I have heard of people toilet training their cat, now I know how they did it. (or attempted it anyway) Pretty cool.

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.Didn't have to do any of that. My black Persian would sit on my lap, and sometimes lick my thighs, whenever I went to the loo. She then decided to use the loo herself, rather than going outside. I had a chain type flush, and I got as far as teaching her to jump for it to pull the chain down with her body weight, but she only ever made half hearted attempts. Her sister used to use the plug hole in the bath tub.

My dog doesn't get on the stool but he pees on the base of it and always has if I don't keep the door shut.

THAT I can understand.. He knows good and well that's where everyone else in the house pees.. Doggy see - Doggy wee.. 
My orange guy self taught. Nothing like stumbling to the bathroom in the middle of the night ... and have to wait for the cat to finish.
