Rant on sexism. I’m in quite a few different groups on Facebook. Everything from atheism, crocheting, local singles, pet pictures, etc. Similarly I’m in a variety of groups here.

I find a common theme of posting sexy pictures of women, regardless of what the group is supposed to be about. It doesn’t seem to matter whether the woman is twig-like with little boobs or butt, or whether she average, curvy, BBW, or super-sized....men (and some women) feel the need to pick apart and criticize every aspect of her body. Or conversely, say what kinds of sexual things they want her to do to them.

I honestly don’t know where I’m going with this other than I’m just tired of women being looked upon as just body parts to be used for men’s pleasure.

I think....I hope.....that most men do not feel/think this way. But the ones who do are the loudest. I don’t know if there’s an answer other than for the men who view women as actual humans with important thoughts and feelings to speak up and tell the sexist prigs to knock it the hell off!

I’m sure I’ll catch hell for this post but I’m speaking from the heart. I’m tired of women being looked at as nothing more than objects for men

Edit: here’s the post (on a Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster Facebook group) that prompted my rant. Yes I’m well aware it’s my own damn fault for looking at the comments. The ass hat who posted it tried to turn it around and blame people for choosing to see the picture as sexual. Of course most of the comments say she’s too fat, disgusting, she’ll look like a whale by 30, etc.

I find significant beauty in most all body types including all your described.

My first thought was WOW! No cellulite. A very callipygous young woman!
If she is happy with her body who cares.
Critics will critic but the objectification of women is a serious problem and you won't get any negative comments about your post from me.

I was impressed by the lack of cellulite as well but then remembered photoshop

I am impressed with the correct spelling and use of the word "callipygous".

Our species is hardwired to NURTURE not all people procreate but we all relax unconsciously holding a doll dog or cat in our arms.....blood pressure drops 30 points when a small looking mammal is placed in our arms

1

Remember the bumper sticker: ASS GAS or GRASS intended for women hitchhiking needing to pay for their ride with vagina fuel or weed.....the culture of Male Entitlement feelings lead to rape murder and STDs

I am proud of you Marcie for confronting bad boys and some lesbians who hunt women and girls body parts...... there are also bad girls who oogle Chippendales washboard abs and body builders....for decades it was sold as CHEESECAKE BEEFCAKE
.....you're not ranting YOU ARE EDUCATING for humanity....people stare at nipples because infants are born then conditioned to be fed by nipples ....baby boys are sexually mutilated and girls are brainwashed against their sovereign right to decide if and when to make love .....religion is the source of the PROBLEM and it gets worse across the planet....we are all born Feminist Atheists and most are terrorized away from Feminism and Atheism

Sex sells, and it's not just women's bodies used in that. The Chippendales [en.wikipedia.org] were once used to sell a certain brand of beer.

I would suggest that the advertising industry has just as much of a part to play in the objectification of women's bodies as the wolf whistles from those with builders' cleavage.

Those of us who treat women as people first tend not to make a noise about it. As with any person, I am of course aware of their apparent gender (they could be trans for all I know or care), their apparent age, their apparent health, and such parts of their personality (in the widest possible meaning of that word) as they care to make known to me.

Your edit has set me off in another direction. Nobody has any business making remarks about somebody's body or apparel (or lack thereof) unless it is made clear from context that said person is happy to receive such remarks.

For the most part, I think nude pictures of women are INAPPROPRIATE. That being said, I like about half of the ones in the "Sexy Classy Pics" group. But I could go without them.

A man can be a lovely partner & companion & still want/need visual hotness (i.e. whatever turns him on...tiny, huge, or in- between)
This culture sells Women products using hot women , ferpetessake. What else would you expect?

Not all men are trained to equate lack of clothing to lustful arousal ....some of us respond to smiles kisses massage and the words YES LET'S MAKE LOVE....at least candlelit safe places to ask and give favors to our mates mutually.....I expect the woman who chooses me NOT to assume we need to watch porn videos or make obscure gestures when the language of love is NOT DIRTY religion is dirty

I can say I’m glad I don’t seem to ever come across these things. I agree that there’s a time and a place for it. People should be able to enjoy various states of nudity without subjecting to it others who came to see kitties and puppies. 🙂

As for nasty comments, it’s all I ever see anywhere anymore. What has happened to people? 😢

Side note: As for her ass (and every other part of her), she’s hot AF. But seems out of place for Church of FSM.

I agree she’s hot! But almost all of the comments fat shame her.

Really well said !

@Marcie1974 I call shame on all those who call shame on her for her body.

I see a body builder who spent years shaping buttocks somehow ....she looks cold to me .....hot is a projection word AS FUCK is simple gutteral groans for more orgasms .....how people experience orgasm tells the story of their religious patriarchal background or lack thereof....I READ PLAYBOY most people only looked at photos

@Larry68Feminist Hmm 🤔 🧐 🤔 I honestly have no idea what you’re saving ...??

My apologies for my gender. I too am disgusted and dismayed at things I hear from women. Anonymity brings out the worst in some...

As I said, I truly believe men like that are in the minority, but they’re LOUD

I need to toughen up and be less sensitive

The comments made are useful in that they tell me something about the person making the comments.

While I appreciate the female body it's eye candy like muscular guys for women . I don't judge a woman by her body but her brains and how she thinks I don't like evangelical women or super religious no matter how pretty or built

That’s the thing though, generally, women don’t pick apart men’s bodies the way men do women’s.

I know we’re in similar groups on here dedicated to sex kinks. If you’re honest with yourself, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

@Marcie1974 yup but serious about eye candy vs desirability

1

Not trying to argue but here's another viewpoint no one asked for.

Sex is a natural activity. Theres nothing wrong with it. Finding other people sexually attractive is a necessary part of that nature. Finding the photo of that woman arousing is normal. I have no other information about her other than the exterior image. I cannot form a judgement about her personality, her beliefs, her desires, or even her personal hygiene. Those things aren't represented here.

We crave sex as a part of survival of the species. Drooling over photos of attractive people isnt much different than drooling over food ads. Human nature.

I'll add that shes benefitting from that nature and doesn't seem to be in any duress.

But what does that picture have to do with the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster?

I can screenshot all the negative comments about how disgusting her ass is if you would like.

Isn’t there a time and place for sexual pictures? I’m not stupid and am well aware that sexual desire is a normal human craving.

@Marcie1974 I'm not suggesting you, or anyone else is stupid. I'm not defending any comments either for or against how she looks. My point is more that there is nothing offensive about the photo itself and that it has no more a time or place than an ad for cookies. I'm sure you'll find people who will criticize the size and/or placement of the chocolate chips too.

Critics gotta crit

@Marcie1974 it's hard to believe there were negative comments !!! Her body shape is the #1 trend of the last few years. Most men want a big round ass !!! Women would shame her tough. But I trust you...don't post the comments.
You know, when I was younger I was really popular because of my small but round butt. Now...nobody looks at it : it's too small ! So you know what ? I retired from being available and desirable. Tired of this burden. If ever someone pays attention to me in the future, it will be because I'm clever and I rock my grays and glasses Lol

@OwlInASack thank you

2

Your criticisms are well founded and very much exist. I love an attractive body, but I do not criticize or analyze body parts. I also avoid making boorish, cliches comments. I will comment on the aspects of the composition on occasion, but do not comment in general.

Yes exactly...we all have types we prefer but why say nasty stuff.

Admittedly, I’m overly sensitive and should just avoid social media altogether

@Marcie1974

I abandoned FB two years ago because it was so toxic and I'm very political.

@t1nick I’ve taken short breaks but can’t give up my addiction to cute animal videos lol

Go to Facebook. Join a group dedicated to palaeontology. Post a picture of a naked woman riding a dinosaur. Three days later everyone will still be arguing about the accuracy of the dinosaur reconstruction, and nobody will have noticed the woman.

I missed my calling lol

Actually I never see images like that in groups I belong to on FB - pretty much all are science based. Not in palaeontology groups, not in geology groups, not in zoology groups, botany groups, chemistry groups or astronomy groups. Even if it did get posted, it would probably be jumped on by the admins quite hard, as all these groups see themselves as educational. The only time anything similar occurs is on 'international cleavage day' when FB 'humour' groups invite people to post pictures of cleavage, and all the geologists post pictures of rock cleavage. I don't do FB humour groups, as I know I'm not going to find much it funny.

Yeah I left one of the groups on here because a particular individual posted non-stop misogyny, literally every post. I reported the behavior, because the group was supposed to be for everyone. I don't know if he's still on here, but the one time I spoke up in the posts about something he wrote, he attacked me. Not worth the trouble.

I haven’t been active on here in a few months but I can probably guess who it is.

@Marcie1974 does his screen name support a politician?

@Emerald No...but there’s definitely a few sexist men on here

@Marcie1974 the one I'm thinking of turned a nice singles group into total hostility towards women.

@OwlInASack oh, so you know him.

@DavidDuhon what part of "total hostility towards women" in my post was unclear? The guy is a total misogynist and since you weren't there, you have no place dismissing it as "bad behaviour in general, rather than anything sexist." Every post he made objectified, demeaned, and insulted women.

@Marcie1974 sexism is boyish girlish immature and degrading real men real women lift each other up to their chosen potentials

@Marcie1974, @Emerald I blovk all sexists and enablers ....I do not know them by patterns because they only have one chance with me ....if what they write or photo is not fit for mom or an 8 year olf IT IS BLOCKED from my viewpoinnt....Ingersoll said ANYTHING that shocks the mind of a child cannot be true

Start commenting the poster in glowing, flattering ways about how she's beautiful, strong, independent, whatever, and finish up by saying something like "No wonder you wanted to share what you masturbate too. Thanks!"

1of5 Level 8 May 4, 2020

It’s dudes posting pictures of women

@Marcie1974 yes, I know. Commenting should be compliment. Basically what I'm saying is call them out for describing and/or posting pics of what they like to masturbate too.

EDIT: Now the pic accompanying the post in the general feed has a chick wearing anal floss where her panties should be. Prolly not the effect you were looking for. 😉

@1of5 yeah, the guy tried saying it was OUR fault for making it sexual. He simply posted a picture of a woman in a swimsuit 😇

@Marcie1974 "So that didn't get you turned on? You must be dead below the waist. I've always wondered what the largest dose of Viagra it's safe to take was, betting you know."

@1of5 you are much more clever than I am! Love it

@Marcie1974 my sense of humor is what you get when you idolize Don Rickles.

Don't idolize Don Rickles, kids.

Your link goes to a group I’m not in

@Marcie1974 . . . ok, here is the article posted there :

[mindbodygreen.com]

I’m not a newbie here and I’m well aware of what a Sapiosexual is. I’m a Sapiosexual.

My point is, it often happens that I’ll be in a group or on a Facebook page that has nothing to do with sex. But suddenly one guy will post a provocative picture of a woman, then come all the comments picking apart her body. Pretty soon other guys start posting pics. Eventually I’m left wondering what sexy pictures of women have to do with an otherwise innocuous group

@Marcie1974 this happens all the time. Some folks are either blind to it or don't want to admit it happens.

@Marcie1974 My point is that there are guys who look for other characteristics (not that 'beauty' isn't noticed).

@FearlessFly I’m aware of that. If you read my original post, I State as much.
